Re: Poll: what reverb should i buy
I dig my Boost RVB a lot, it's pretty versatile and on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Can get fully wet and huge-ish, and sounds really natural to me on more subtle settings.
As for the other poll options, I've had an RV-3 and it was really cold/unnatural sounding. You'd certainly have no trouble flipping an RRR if you tried that route, though. They are also the prettiest reverbs available.

of the things i own or have tried, i really love the Ghost Echo, which i seldom if ever turn off. i have an RV-3 which i like a lot, but i wouldn't recommend it as an only reverb; it's got a very individual, colored sound which i like for a particular kind of effected thing but really isn't suitable for all-around use. i considered the RRR very carefully, but i found it to be just a tiny bit artificial-sounding compared to the Ghost Echo, and the Ghost Echo also has a plate reverb-like quality to it that really appeals to my ear...if you turn all the knobs to about 3:00 it makes everything sound like OK Computer.

Re: Poll: what reverb should i buy
i've used my rv-3 for a long time and have always been satisfied--i especially like the reverb+delay setting. the earthquaker devices dispatch master appears to be similar, though, and the rv-3 is getting more scarce and dear.

Ok so I just saw this:
Wow...that's really awesome, especially the long settings.
Definitely a competitor for the RRR.

I said the EHX holy grail, I have the nano one, and it rules. It's got spring, hall, and flerb. Also I a/b'd the spring reverb in the holy grail to the spring reverb in my Jc-120 and they're almost identical. It, for $120, is totally worth it, and also (duh) a small footprint so more room for FUZZ!

I say you should give the Ghost Echo a shot. Its not too over the top like most reverb pedals. I have a rrr and I'm looking into getting my hands on a Ghost Echo again. Should be a greaat reverb combo with my rrr. Although, the Cathedral's presets come in handy too. :-)

Get a WET for long and non-coloured reverb or a RRR for emulating tones. Or both for aweseomeness.

I voted for the RRR, because....... well... it's fantastic. The discontinued Holy Grail in the Small Stone/Clone enclosure is really solid on the cheaps. The Flerb setting is nearly worthless, but the Spring is great for subtle verb, and the Hall for washed out tones.

Wait, the nano version is discontinued? Since when?
