A'aight! Thanks for chipping in folks!
So I started the evening by doing the only mod I could without parts:
I unsoldered the IC and installed a socket. I replaced the ic and it works. Very satisfying. The cheapest of thrills! I've ebayed some LM308's.
Pulling it apart was ok because the turbo rats are still made in the US of A, so the knobs weren't glued to the shafts (why baby jesus??).

I
will work up to doing some diode switching shenanigans. As a side note, I enjoyed your dirty rat post. Nice work!
I have also read (and am inclined to believe) that the IC aint the be all and end all. Some modders swap out/adjust the value of caps. What are your thought on this?
My biggest issue I have with my turbo rat is the frequency notch that it bumps up.
Normal folk wouldn't understand but the sound is almost like a wah cocked at fixed position. My rat really seems to have an annoying honking resonance.
I would imagine that this would be more to do with cap values. Does anyone elses turbo (or rat 2) do this?
Thanks!
