OK, so, I've been mostly been playing with the BF towards the beginning of my chain, but tonight I tried it after all my other gain devices. I like it both ways, but I agree with Holy Schnikes. After is where it really shines. The differences between settings on the Depth control are more noticeable (natch) and it's more effective that way. Wow, the sound of greatness.

OH MAN......the Black Forest is fuckin' RAD on bass!!!!!! The little bit of skepticism I had due to the "tuned for guitar" description is totally gone. This thing is a BEAST!!!!

Super dynamic......it can get as clean, smooth and open or as compressed/fuzzy/cutting as you could want. This one's never goin' anywhere. Congrats Mark on making such a FINE pedal! Cheers!

Got mine yesterday and only had a few minutes to blaze thru the home rig...but goddamn.
I have found I like to use my Pharaoh at the end of the chain, and I can already see how this would just pummel in that slot. Sounds great on its' own, and can't wait to hear it after Blunderbuss...
Mark, once again you've helped redefine what I look for in good tone from stompboxes...thank you.
Special low-frequency version.

Thanks for the props yo. I am super stoked that the BF is getting the Rave bass reviews. I knew it killed on guitar but didn't know on bass. I didn't test it on a bass. Although, I did just buy a PBass, and all subsequent pedals will be tortured with it.
