... weird... i've played many, Standards, vintage ones etc etc and none of them got me intersted
and this kinda cheap Gibby SG Faded with P90 does it for me!
even though the red one didn't have as comfortable neck as the black one... stupid quality control...
i can imagine buying the red one and putting one of those big oldschool pickguards on it... CREAM COLOURED... seriously - have you seen a red SG with cream PG? it's like BWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAYOOYOOOOOOOOUZ AWESOME
now we can all just make fun of each other and grill me for not liking SGs
I feel like the SG and the P-90 were made for each other. Not a fan of the batwing pickgaurd though.
The 70's Deluxes with the buckhummers, Factory Bigsbys and smaller PGs are totally serviceable IMO. The geetarist in MS had one and it was a creamy sounding gitfiddle. He needed some loot and had to sell it though.
SGs totally fucking rule. Humbuckers, P-90s, they all rule. I have a hankering for one of those "flip flop" Specials they made a few years ago...some day, oh yes, it will be my 3rd SG.
Cream-colored pickguard sounds terrible, though, dude. Don't do it!

I think we've discussed this before - an SG with a half-guard is like a demon with one wing - how's it going to fly down and reave the souls of men? it's not, no way. batwing or die, forever.
The problem is i don't usually like HB guitars for clean tones... i'd rock an SG or an LP if it had P90, just don't like them for clean sound (which is just priceless for me...)

I agree with everything said here. Those teal SGs were so hawt.
I've had an SG Standard for about 5 years now. I really love it. The neck is soooooo good and it sounds pretty rad. I lost the mounting screws and springs for the bridge pickup so it's been out of comish for a while though :/

Your avatar and name is Repeater, and you prefer LP's?
Think as for sound.. the SG is my fave, to me it's like a tele raped a Les Paul and it is it's devil spawn
Plus, playing a LP anywhere but at like your thigh looks kinda dorky, but with an SG right above your waist, you can really get into the guitar, instead of sorta having it on you.
