Question for CC v2 users...

Post by Ryan »

Do you guys like how the clean/dry blend stays unchangeable at unity and then you mix in the chorus signal and adjust the volume of it only? Or would it be better to be able to adjust the overall volume regardless of the mix setting, turn up the dry and wet?

I thought I was pretty far with the new CC but I've been comparing it to the v2 for the last few days and the wet signal doesn't sound as clear/good plus it has higher noise... so I went back to the v2 on the bread board and it really does sound good the way it works. Part of me doesn't want to change that about it... what do you guys think?

Yeah - I love the fact that the mix only adjusts the chorus, that way I can have as much or as little swirly awesome without unexpected changes in volume.

I like v2 wet/dry mix volume setup as is as well. Let's me dial in the whacky in a subtle way. :)*

the second option (mix knob & overall volume +/-) seems more intuitive to me.

but if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

I hear you Kev, I think that's intuitive too... I guess I just feel that it makes sense that some pedals be capable of being a clean boost like the Trem and the RRR, but some pedals don't need to be, like the CC. I also feel like it's probably smart to keep the CC at unity and not have it be able to go way louder as that's gonna make for way more noise and I already get enough emails about the CC and noise.

Plus, ultimately, I just couldn't get it to sound as good as the v2.. the way it works makes for an awesome chorus sound that's as low noise as possible.

New proto pcb will be ready to order this weekend!

I like it how it is because if the mix has some dry signal mixed in it really lowers the chance of an unpredictable volume change when you step on it and some of your settings are questionable.
