You're getting octave down with the AB-Synth... it's a custom one?

It does synthy octave down in oscillation mode. If you set it right (not very hard to do) and maybe roll off guitar volume a bit the oscillation follows what you play and you have octave down/bass sim. If you set it optimally it can be pretty stable on lower strings too.

Edit: Forgot to mention this is just the normal AB-Synth with four knobs.

In my case:

Clean octave down: FoxRox Octron (I wish it track better on the low strings)
Fuzzy octave down: Fairfield Cricuitry Four Eyes

never fooled with a "normal" octave down pedal, but as far as fucked up and fuzzy ones go(out of all the ones I've tried)
Phantom Octave/Arcade
EHX Microsynth
Mellowtone Mini Wolf CPU
Blue Box
Devi Disaster Fuzz
Would love to try:
EHX Octave Multiplexor
Pollyanna
Subdecay Octa Synth
probably a few others

POG2 alllllllllllllllll dayyyyyyyyyy looooonnnnnnnnnnng!

Although I have been borrowing Behndy's Bit Commander, and it is mighty mighty fun for teh synthies. And I love my EHX Bass Microsynth (even if it's broken at the moment).

Also, for glitchy, muddy octave down (which I do actually enjoy quite a bit), I enjoy the Dano Chili Dog. Can't track for crap, which can actually make for some fun unintended textures & discoveries.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

MXR m288
Pearl octaver (currently building one yay!)
FH ABsynth
MXR blooooobox
Infanem harmony synth (2nd voice is cool too)
Guyatone mo3 (like the 3rd pedal I owned and didn't have a taste or the gear for it, but now it would be cool of course)
Mellowtone wolf comp

5k is the same! But the added gain control allows me to use it as a bass od if I want...and as of yesterday I have 2! Hah

Oh, bad wording on my part. I meant that even if mine was "only" 4k it could do that too (since he asked if it was a custom one).

And also, what fuzz takes your octave down pedals best? For instance my Bass Big Muff seems to do pretty much nothing cool with my OC-2 in front of it, it only seems there is a little more bass in the signal in most settings..

My homemade bazz fuss on the other hand with the OC-2 in front creates some really nasty big synth sounds!
