So I've got my eye on a high wattage guitar amp head. My brother has a 4x10" cab he doesn't use. Could I and would it even sound good playing guitar through the head into the bass cab? The head is going to fill my total budget so I can at the moment afford a 4x12"...
I guess my main concern is how much if any of the high/ mid frequencies would come through. I'm not worried about bottom end cause the meatier the better IMO.
Æn if you were to hear JUST the twin rvb through the cab and no 12"s would it still sound OK? I'm looking at a head. Maybe I could swap out 2 of the 10" speakers with guitar cab speakers.

Thats what i'm doing. "The Right Choice" on this page: http://www.myspace.com/thesuncrusher is through that twin/bass cab rig. I kind of fucked up the recording, so thers not as much abss as there was IRL, but you can gear the trebles.

I tried my Blue Voodoo through my Avatar cab. For one, the volume was pretty low, because of the low wattage head and the high wattage cab. Plus, it was actually too bright (this is without the horn).
It depends on the cab. See if you can find out what it's tuned for, if it's tuned. That will define how much of what frequencies it accentuates, or is even capable of producing. I know my 215 really has to be coaxed into letting out highs, but it has booming lows and piercing mids.
