Jamie is rightfully lauded for his fuzz, but I think his ODs are exceptional, especially the Monarch...looking fwd to trying this one out. what to sell, what to sell?

I seriously love my Speaker Cranker! I just got ahold of it a few days ago and I've been playing the hell out of it. I already own way too many fuzzes, overdrives, boosters, etc., but this thing is one of the BEST.

Full on it delivers a very warm, smooth amp-like distortion which pretty much gives me all the range I need while riding my guitar's volume knob. It cleans up very nicely and it gives me just the right amount of compression at full bore. The tone is just fabulous.

There's something magical about a really well designed pedal that gives you what you need via a single knob -- I just love that! You cannot go wrong with this thing. It's designed for a single function and it does its job remarkably. I'm going to get lots of use out of it, I'm certain of that.

I should mention, although there are plenty of useful tones throughout this pedal's gain structure, my 2nd fave setting of this thing (my 1st being full out) is at about 9:00. It adds a fantastic but subtle heft to the tone with sparkling highs. Seriously, even if I were going to utilize a clean tone all the time, I would definitely use this thing just for its 9:00 setting.

Don't know what else to say except: I ordered this thing without ever having heard it, no videos, nothing, based solely on the fact that I've been so entirely pleased with EQD's other gear, and I'm very happy I did!

Thanks, EQD!

ToneFactor did a pretty sweet demo of the SC. Definitely tempted to pick one up.

CHICKEN HEAD KNOBS RULE

Post by effcee1 »

I totally love mine, getting ready to buy a 2nd one, and now most of my other dirt boxes are on the shelf. Forgot to mention one thing in a previous post:

Mine came in yesterday from Prymaxe. Killer pedal! I really like how it really adds flavor to my Hoof and Reaper.

CrystalLake, you beat my to it... ! I was going to comment on how AMAZING it sounds with my Dirt Transmitter. Like, my favorite combo of all time. As a Public Service to my fellow gear whores I might post my fave settings, because those 2 boxes are covering all the bases in a major way!

I'd love to hear samples of the SC goosing some other EQD dirt (or even the Bit Commander). Right now I'm hesitating between getting a Black Eye or a Speaker Cranker. I know the SC isn't a "boost," per se, but I'm trying to figure out if the slight boost it does offer will be enough for my applications. I already have a Zap, so if the SC covers similar territory, I might just go for the BE.

I thought my HOOF was as good as it gets, until I got a Dirt Transmitter. For me, the DT adds a degree of funky subtlety which I prefer. Not that it won't scream like the Hoof, cuz it does. But the DT has, um...fluffier, more, um, 'organic' shades of grit which occur before the flat-out, searing stage.

I'm glad I own both, for sure.
