Peavy Classic 400

Post by RoyalPalmer »

I got one of these in black carpet. I lost the grill; I took it off to show it's amazing insides. I have recently replaced the tubes, yes all 8 of them. I don't have a full bass rig anymore and am finally thinking about selling this beast. Any idea how much I should ask for? I've seen around 750, which is close to what I bought it at 6 years ago, but was curious if their demand is higher as they become harder to come by. Thanks.

Going to be blunt, you're going to take a beating on this one.

A ugly, ugly beating.

Shipping will be killer, and I'm seeing last few month CL ads and Talkbass at $600 taking forever to move, they don't seem to stop getting relisted until they go to $500 or under.

Peavey has terrible resale, always has.

Not the worst news. I am going to try on craigslist first because I do not wanna have to ship this. I'd be fine getting 500 for this. Honestly it is a great amp, extremely loud, a tank and head turner. BUT it is so heavy and a pain in the ass sometimes. It is just time to depart so just about anything over 400 will make me happy. 500-700 would be great though.

I'm thinking $500 is even pushing it without the grill. bummer when you've just retubed it, but so it goes. just hold on to it, dude.
Maybe partying will help.

Sorry I was in class. I am in Arizona. But I may be able to ship as long as cost is paid for or split and the buyer is ok with it.

+1.

On the other hand, I'd totally pay $500 for a classic 400. It's definitely a buyer's market with this beast.
good deals are here.

pffffffuuuuuuuuck, that would rule. I am in Bad Times, but, unfortunately, the singer/guitar player lives in Olympia, WA. Buuuuuuuut, other bands....II'm in...exist...but getting to phoenix anytime soon would be difficult.

theavondon we got a great DIY wear house venue that has seen the likes of Cold Cave, Iceage and Milk Music lately. Always a great time, always a party and always illegal. Good time. So yeah you should think about it and let me know.

Derelict78 you should check back. February will come very soon.
