Nothing wrong with that. It doesn't cost any more or less to ship a package of the same size and weight whether the contents are worth $5 or $1,000. Why should you pay more for exactly the same service run at exactly the same cost?

As someone that's been there,...alcohol may help in the short term but it's never a long term solution.
Assuming this is an end of relationship deal,....find some closure and focus on yourself and bettering your own situation for a while (it's okay to be selfish every now and then), then get out there and find some new tail.

I don't have much of a moral compass when it comes to that,....or at least,...it normally points to the recipient moreso than the gooberment said recipient lives in.
I normally do it unless the thing in question is expensive enough that I'd be really pissed off if they lost it and I get the compensation service. This came from lawrence at ohnoho though, and since he's running a business I can totally respect him keeping it legit. Especially since his prices are pretty great.

About 6 years ago; after the end of an LTR, I used a half rack of PBR a night just to shut off the internal dialogue enough to pass out. In the end that really didn't make me very attractive to members of the opposite sex,...and the few ONSes I managed weren't really all that gratifying thanks to be too wasted to get off. I'd really rather forget about that portion of my life,....but I guess those are the things that shape us into who we are presently.
In retrospect the proper thing to have done is embrace that internal dialogue and use to better myself, figure out who I am,...what I want and what I value in a relationship....but I had to sober up (not that I'm straightedge,...I love beer and pot but I don't inebriate to medicate anymore,...I do it cause I enjoy it) to realize that. It's tough for sure and easy out is easy,...but often times we have to do things we don't want to do.
Just know that if you allow or force yourself to take the first step in the right direction,...things will get better.
Gawd that sounded like a transcript from an AA meeting,...I've never been to one and I'm not telling you to recover from drinking,...but rather to recover from what appears to have been a destructive relationshit.

Yeah I'm with you there, and as a businessman,....lying to the USPS is a bad habit to get into.
To be fair the only things I shipped to Europe were some spare power cables to Gnasher in the UK and a collapsible hula hoop that my wife built to Ireland. Neither of which were worth a whole lot but were bought and paid for. I told USPS they were gifts,...and I did put a lot of trust in that system. I worried a little bit that they wouldn't get to where they were going,...but in the end both packages made it safely.
I'm a horrible liar and hate doing it too so often times when the clerk starts asking too many questions (like when you ship beer through UPS),....I start to get a little nervous.

thanks, i know my drinking is destructive but i cant sit and listen to my internal dialogue, i know i need to but i just cant. and i'm lucky to have a few super close friends who would rather stay in on a friday night and we all get really trashed and make asses of ourselves in front of one another. i'm trying to change but its hard. my biggest problem at the moment is i'm not outgoing enough with the opposite sex. i dont know how to even get a ONS i know its pathetic. i just cant work up the courage to go talk to a random girl. and when u never get laid and all your friends are in relationships its depressing and stresses you out.

Ugh, need to do an assignment, but I need to be at work around 8:30 when I just got back from my other job after an 8 hour shift. I was supposed to do it and email it to the rest of my group last night, but I was so tired after classes I just fell asleep in my easy-chair. Then, I have to do the same thing tomorrow.
Silver lining, I put my two weeks notice in at one job today. Also, I just happen to have Sunday off.

Almost half of my friends are apparently Ron Paul supporters. I wonder how that purple Kool-Aid tastes.

We've been talking about libertarianism in a class of mine. It followed feminism and next is animal rights. It's like a parade of idiocy.
Read Nozick's Anarchy, the State, and Utopia. It basically outlines an "ideal" minimalist state where the state only protects property rights(his only legitimate rights), but he proposes no means of how this "microstate" would protect these rights(without violating his precious property rights) and seems to think that if people are left to form their own independent communities within this state based on self-interest and their own ideologies(which still respect the libertarian state) they won't try to violate each others property rights.
Basically, he seems to think that violent criminals are as real as Santa Claus. Libertarianism only works if people put libertarianism above everything, yet the crucial basis of that ideology is that people are driven by self-interest. He doesn't think you can violate libertarian ideals in the form of property rights of others(i.e. stealing) when acting in self interest when the only "law" enforcement groups are local "police" forces funded by voluntary support.
I don't understand why people seem to think that greater locality of government makes it more efficient/effective magically. Small town police forces are the biggest wastes of tax money I've ever seen. They're too busy busting high school kids' parties to realize that you can easily locate illegal drugs in every single bar in town including the ones less than a block away from the police station.

I think the biggest misconception is makes is that localizing government is the "natural way". Government has been experiencing ever greater centralization for centuries. A global unified government is inevitable, in my opinion.

I'm not saying a centralized gov't is necessarily better. Both have strengths and weaknesses. It's just important to recognize the weaknesses before you can hone the strengths.

Neither was I. I was just saying I think it's an inevitability. It's certainly been the trend since more governments became democratized.
