A Beta Bass head is more than enough to gig with, its loud as hell. I'd pay 3 bills for one.
I have a Sunn Concert head that I paid 200 bucks for in less than perfect shape about 5 years ago to replace the beta bass that I had to give back to the friend I borrowed it from. I dropped the concert and it stopped working but I just paid $150 to have it completely serviced, now other than the tolex and slightly worn face I have a perfectly functional Sunn Concert for a total of $350. It's loud as shit and just mean. Love it forever.

what u guys think of this? rebuilt ampeg v4 w/ randall 2x12 for $800
I would jump all over that and flip the cab if he absolutely won't part them out (you might want to try offering him around 600 for the head). V4's are awesome.
oh & the cab is a 2x15 not 12's. im excited to go check it out now

475 for both those heads is a solid price in this inflated Sunn market.

So much definition and detail for a tube amp, flexable as fuck eq and no amp
takes pedals better
I have one too, I really love it, although for some occasions it is just too loud
But why are they out of production?

Re: my general bass amp Q & A thread
well the randall 2x15 cab sounded pretty decent. i didnt turn the v4 past 5, but i think im gonna like it. the randall is huge, & wouldnt fit in my wifes elantra so im gonna pick it up tomorow. i couldnt get him any lower than $775, but i dont reckon its too bad a deal.
