'spensive picks

Post by hazelwould »

So, people really shell out top dollar for these things?

http://shop.bluechippick.net/

Why? I'm genuinely curious. :?:

I've been to guitar shows where thay have guitar picks made of animal bone and coconuts, they were about $3 each, but I've never seen pics that expensive.

I dunno I don't see the silliness in using a more expensive pick if it feels good to you and if you can keep track of one pick. In the grand scheme of things if you spend lots of money on your setup dropping 50 bucks on a pick isint a big deal. Supposedly they last a lot longer than normal picks. I use dunlop jazz 3s and never had one wear out on me but I sure do lose them. Different strokes for different folks.

i mean spending 50 bucks on a pick is cool if you've got 50 bucks to spend on a pick and i'm making 50 dollar picks, but in any other situation i'd think it a foolish waste of money
well i guess, but i just don't know.

I would be doubly angry with myself for buying the stupid thing in the first place and then losing it ten minutes later.
It would happen, guaranteed.

The part that I'm bewildered by is the choice for left-handed picks. Seriously? There's no way I'd actually pay attention to which way the pick is facing when I grab it anyway.

I've spent $10 on a pick for the funsies and out of complete curiosity. Also playing guitar with a chunk of Obsidian sounds fucking brutal.

http://picksofstone.com/

They look pretty, except they're not very good for playing, they slightly scratch the guitar body and I feel like I play better with my 2mm Dunlop Gators. Would not rely on them, but they look nice.

Definitely would not spend more than that though.
