Thanks for pointing these out. I love Jawbox and had tickets to what ended up being a close to final show at Maxwell's in NJ. Thanks to a girl, we were so late that I got in just in time to see their cover of Cornflake Girl and nothing else. It sounded amazing and made me lament what I had missed. Stupid girl.

At least Bill Barbot autographed the ticket that the club didn't even bother to tear. His message: "Next time come early."

Bumping this because I'm really excited to see J play tomorrow night! He's doing a mini-tour and Providence is on the itinerary! Not just Providence, but one of my favorite smaller venues here, which is almost in walking distance of my house. Jamming on Jawbox, Burning Airlines, Channels and Office of Future Plans ALL DAY LONG!!!!!

Re-listening to Novelty by Jawbox right now, totally crushing out on these songs again. SO GOOD!

awesome! we (thrushes) played a one off show with channels over a summer and they totally killed it. j will be recording our new record next month at his magpie cage studio in baltimore. used to be oz recording and tons of classic records went down there in the 90's; velocity girl, jawbox, shudder to think.

Oh man, I am so jealous! J is definitely my dream producer, and I loved Channels. Do you know Small Apartments? My band played with them this past Spring - they recently recorded an EP with J, and said it was a wonderful experience. And of course, the songs sounded great.

Definitely let us know when we can hear the new album!

oh yeah those guys are great and have been kicking around in great bands here in town for a long while. Not sure what happened to free electric state, but they were (are?) outstanding.

Yeah, I love me some FES. I think the breakup was purely a distance thing - Maryland to North Carolina was just far enough to make things untenable. I can't be 100%, but I'm pretty sure that's what was said...
