New to the whole BAT family. I have a Pharoah and a LSTR. right now i have the Pharoah going into the LSTR
Just wondering how everyone else views the sound of the Pharoah -> LSTR as opposed to LSTR-> Pharoah.
Discuss.

Re: BAT stacking
I prefer the lstr into the pharaoh, i felt that the lstr compressed the signal of the pharaoh too much while the lstr feeds the pharaoh wonderfully. Add the black forest as a clean boost with the depth set at 6 in the beginning of the chain and you've got some of the deepest, heaviest organic tones you've ever heard. I've tried both ways and with the pharaoh into the lstr i just couldnt find a tone i was as happy with or at least as easily as i could with the lstr into the pharaoh. Here's a little trick i discovered, always set the level the same on both pedals, and set the gain on one higher than the other, i max the gain on the lstr and use the pharaoh at about 6 or 7. Also make sure the eq's on both pedals are different otherwise they kind of cancel each other out, i find putting both tone controls at zero on the lstr worked best for boosting the pharaoh which i then would set at about 3 and 3 for the tone (gives the pharaoh a nice mid boost that cuts through well and with the lstr engaged it sounds HUGE). Hope this helps.

Re: BAT stacking
As far as B.A.T. goes, my chain is Black Forest-> LSTR-> Pharaoh. Sounds best that way with my setup, more wide-open and huge without the noise canceling or compression I've run into the other way around. The Pharaoh does well with most any fuzz/distortion/boost I hit it with, just maintains the thick low end while other frequencies can be filled out by stacking or boosting, thus it's usually last in the dirt/fuzz line.

You guys all rule. That is exactly the kind of talk i was looking for. I also hate you all for wanting the black forest more than i already do.
I'll give the suggesions a shot. I play at bedroom volume at hime so i don;t catch some of the subtleties as much as i do at show volumes, so all the compression talk is very appreciated.

hmmm dual effects loops? me likey!
looks like tuner to lstr (main distortion) to ?aby box? (the deFUZZ) then loop1 is the supercollider into the pharaoh (both set as clean boosters?) into the wet reverb and loop2 is the swirly blue box (was is das?) into the boost rvb.....
All i know is it sounds SICK on the recording!
