Pedal dreams

Post by insubordination »

Not pedals OF your dreams, but pedals that don't exist, but you dream about.

Most recently, I dreamed that a Boss "RV-5B Bass Reverb" existed, which looked like the RV-5, but I guess...only affected bass frequencies? I don't know.

Back in May (I only remember this because I posted it on another board), I had a Big Muff dream, involving a weird-looking Little Big Muff NYC, and a circular, shiny 70s Ram's Head muff, the same thickness, but like the size of a Fuzz Face. In the dream, I found them at an antiques store in my town that actually doesn't exist. They also had a mysterious "fuzz delay" pedal that was pink, huge, and kind of shaped like those offset Ibanez pedals from the 80s, but the size of a Digitech whammy. They were all around $30 each, and I bought all of them.

Any others out there? I can't be the only one with pedal dreams. General gear dreams allowed as well. This is a safe space. :thumb:

I usually have dreams where I found a box of pedals I completely forgot I had. It makes me grumpy when I wake up. :grumpy:

I frequently dream about pedals that mess with senses as opposed to sound. visual reverb, delay trails things like this.

I had a dream last week that I found a couple of Devi Evers in my collection that I had forgotten about - a Beautiful Disaster with black graphics and a weird extra knob / button (my dream was confused about which) that was a fuschia/purple swirl. Can't remember now what the second pedal was, but it was really big, and the graphics were totally beat to crap. I can't remember why, but my first reaction was "All right! I bet I can trade these to Bassus Sanguinus for that thing I always wanted!" Why Bassus wanted them, and what I was going to trade for are both lost to me now...

I dreamed about a perfect green box-ed phaser that starts phasing in response to attack, so if you would play fast, you would get weird stuff.
Also, dreams about stuff I "forgot I had" but didn't actually have. Hate it when that happens cuz I'm usually all like "I'M SO GONNA TRY COMBINING THAT SHIT WHEN I WAKE UP!!!!" and then I wake up -.-

The most recent one I can actually remember was an EHX Holy Grail, and I had it in a feedback looper and it went nuts. Like, 4545 nuts.

I do this way too often when I have stuff on the way. Also dream about stuff that I just don't have, like recently I had a gnomeratron in a dream, and it was awesome. Waking up was really disappointing :(

Mixer/blend pedal of your choice >High cut filter> verb of your choice (or multifx/rackmount that does the same)

hah! weird - i get that as well. i didn't realise i have dreamed this until you posted this and now i remember. but not necessarily about stompboxes. can't think of any examples but stuff like dreaming about something cool about a Les Paul and waking up thinking HELL YEAH GONNA DO THAT SHIT and a split second later realising that LP's are shit and i have good taste and don't own one :thumb: ;)

pedal related dreams i have a strange one from about half a year ago maybe more. i was strolling around a flea market but i had a sort of radar for pedal dealz ( ), so kind of like a metal detector, but it just directed me to all the Maestro Boomerang wahs that were for sale (apparently there were lots) so i went home with like 6-7 Boomerangs

i also think i have had a recurring nightmare of finding an original Tone Bender MKI (nightmare 'cos it's never a reality :grumpy: )

I dream about being in shops all the time. Usually music (sometimes porn) shops. The one I had last night featured me trying out some fender bass, which I ran through a boss ME-25 (because the shop didn't have anything but multi effects for some reason). In the end I got upset because I couldn't get the flange to work right (not sure if ME 25s have flange) and left. The only other thing I remember is that all the employees were wearing uniforms with huge propeller hats.

I always have dreams about pedals that don't exist, but should, and it take me the entire dream to set them all up and then before I get to play them, I wake up.
