The DC show was Liturgy -- Asobi Seksu -- Boris.
I've only heard a couple Liturgy songs before, so I can't really comment. They were not bad. It was basically a wall of noise with drums, and the drummer was really, really good. Maybe it's supposed to be that way
Asobi Seksu was excellent. They played my favorite song as the closer (Red Sea), and at the end Yuki hopped on the drums, chanted "Atsuo, Atsuo!" and of course Atsuo comes out, dives into the crowd instantly, runs back to his own drum set and they bring the song to an end.
It was fucking glorious.

Then Boris came on and rattled my brain. That's about all there is to say. It was amazing. I think they played for an hour and a half? Some of the songs were extended.
I honestly was skeptical about the new material, but they totally blew me away...actually being there makes a huge difference. It was incredibly loud, but not in the super shrill annoying feedbacky way. It was all roar, and it was also easy to tell when Takeshi stepped on the ECT. Michio Kurihara was with them, although he hid in the corner next to his 2 Twin Reverbs the entire time and slide/ebow'd it up.

The last three songs especially were great. But they are also my favorites of the list, and the songs I've heard the most. People were freaking out when they went into Statement.
First Boris show: highly successful. I can't hear anything. Well, I can hear a little out of my left ear.

I gotta say, that was probably the best show I have seen in a while. So many sounds in one night! Crowd sucked though, hardly any cheers or pumping devil horn fists...D=
