WOAH.
Make picks out of credit cards and shit.
I'm sure they sound terrible, but they also sell sheets of pick material... and I'm sure there's other things.
I could imagine the rough sides of the picks being too square, though... which would make the pick all scratchy.

Re: Pick punch!
The pickpunch is actually a great product for the money.
I got one over a year ago with a couple sheets of the pick material and they work well for me.
It really will not go thru material much thicker than 1mm but that is no big deal for me.
Also it is great to get rid of old credit cards and them stupid store cards.

Re: Pick punch!
I had one for a while. Pretty cool idea. It's fun, and then you realize you don't like the picks. But I made some awesome looking picks.
Actually, a few of them were pretty useable. But you have to file the edges on the thicker stuff.

Re: Pick punch!
A friend of mine had one, worked well for him, but I only like picks with some sort of grip on them. And if you found a material that was like that, it would be all over the thing and would probably sound crap.

Like a physical grip, or a material that grips?
They sell matte delrin (tortex) for it and it's pretty cheap.
I'll probably pick one up for kicks. Sanding the edge doesn't bother me much...

Re: Pick punch!
It would probably make making band branded picks really easy, if you had a way to print on to a plastic surface.

I mean a physical grip like a bumpy surface. Picks just don't feel right to me without that
It's probably still possible to that with these really, just more effort than it's worth. I would probably be more inclined to do it if I hadn't had the same 2 picks for about a year now, I don't go through them as fast as some people seem to.^That definitely would be a good use for it if there's a cheap way to print on the plastic material.

they're actually pretty aight, if you use the right material.
personally i prefer bone and horn picks...
... even though you have to file them down every month or so

Waiting on the hydraulic press version so I can do my 2 and 3mm picks.
