I don't have a pedalboard and all my pedals are camera shy anyway.

I just bought a fish and chips actually (to add to my musicians friend order to make it high enough for a discount and free shipping) so I should have a little fun with it. Plus fish and chips is my favorite meal. MMM maybe that's what I'll have tonight.

Those recessed knobs on the Empress felt really janky to me. I didn't like that they weren't attatched to the enclosure. It was like they were just board mounted pots held on only to the PCB. You could wobble them around.. I dunno... It bugged me.

It was a really nice pedal though and that's not to say it wasn't built well. It had the nicest wiring I've ever seen.

But I guess I just found myself never using it with my band so I sold it. Mainly I'm just too r-tarded to use one effectively.

My main preamp has parametric mids (2 band oh Ch1, 1 on Ch2), and I can do further EQ in the guitar synth as well as the rack units, including abusive filters.

Never bought a standalone EQ because it was always available in something else I had.

I have the MXR 6 Band EQ to be a really useful addition to my pedal chain.

I'm don't generally want a scooped sound, but do like to click it on occasionally for a rhythm sound.

So I have it first in the effects loop with a :) shape to scoop whatever fuzz or drive I have on before it.

The volume is set a little below unity so that I get a lead boost when it is clicked off.

Easy and satisfying

Source Audio is doing a small programmable EQ. It looks pretty neat!

I'm about to try out a Behringer Bass EQ on my violin.

The frequency range should be covered, and it's just to see if it adds anything, or helps me fatten/darken the sound up before I run into my effects and amp. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
I play.

I play through two amps in stereo and having separate EQs for each is a big improvement. I just run a fish and chips on one and some cheap old no-name thing on the other.
I had a Joyo that I didn't like, it sounded too middy, somehow. Also, I had a Fromel Shape EQ that didn't have enough control for me.
But, seriously, if you've got two amps, you need to try running EQs before them.

I could say the same thing about the amount of fuzz pedals we have on our boards. I really don't see the need for more than one EQ pedal in my rig, but we all have our reasons for having three different delays, five fuzzes, and two phasers on a board...I imagine some guy has a reason for EQs.

Afterall, the reason we like certain fuzzes over others is the way they're EQ'd. One has more low end, one is more transparent and bright... why not have one fuzz tone and and an EQ pedal to boost or tweak the EQ? I would never do this as a lover of fuzz, but it's worth considering.
