Agreed.

Is that black PG stock?

I wanna kno where i can get a black one for mine

No idea, the bass is quite second hand at this point.

warwick.hoy wrote:SEQ,...is that Laky a Skyline or USA made?

Also,...is that Reverend and import,...or USA made?

Just curious.

It's a US body with a skyline decade neck. Apparently the bass went through the Nashville floods and all that survived was the body and knobs. Lakland helped the guy out on the cheap with a used neck and bridge that they had floating around the factory and here it is.

The Rev is an import, I freaking love it. My brother has one in white that I played a couple of weeks ago that I fell for.

here is a shitty cell phone (instagram) pic of my #1 & #2 guitars at the moment..

Image

CP HH Jaguar (that i've swapped the neck pickup for a cp jag single coil...)
still wired with a kill switch.. neck roller knob does nothing
bridge roller knob is still essentially the humbucker -->single coil blend
Lower control switches
neck - neck pup on/off
mid - bridge pup on/off
bridge - phase reverse switch for neck pickup

BT Jazzmaster
Neck pickup is CP jazzmaster pickup
Bridge pickup is GFS "Vintage Split Humbucker- Classic Fender Style" sounds like a PAF crossed with a WRHB but i'm happy with it (certainly not a WRHB sound that some would expect)

Thanks! And that is a really great link for info on the amp... It is indeed a Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve.

This is my home rig and sadly the amp rarely makes it out to gigs :( (primary amp is a Deville 4x10)

Can't tell from the picture too well, but this things is absolutely knackered. Not that relic'd bullsh*t, this guit has seen some road. Previously owned by a good friend who passed away a few years ago. I never really had the inclination to play music before, but now its all I want to do! Crafted from Japanese and American parts alike.

Love the Tele as well, I think the 70's headstock should be the new standard

Some people can't get next to the chunky necks on these guys,....but I've be playing mine for so long (11 years now) that a slim profile neck seems too small in my hands. It was my first real bass,...I bought it on credit,....something I'll never do again,...but it was worth it back then.

RE: 70's strat headstock on the Tele,....I actually prefer the smaller tele headstocks,...the 70's Strat style headstocks are bit out of proportion on Teles,...but it's such a minor aesthetic thing that I'm not put off enough to write the guitar off. I do want to get the PUPs rewound at some point and I may try to pickup a spare set of the RI Wide Range pups,...keep one set stock and the other set rewound for compare and contrast. From what I can gather on the TDPRI site and wiki,...the 72's originally had copper nickel iron magnets for pickups and the only CuNiFe pups available are the Telenators and they are pricey ($450,...and I can't tell if that's for a pair of for a single pup). There are other Wide Range Pup replacements from Curtis Novak, Jason Lollar,...and a few others, which I may get into further.

I'm planning on shielding the cavities and upgrading to 500K pots (not sure if I should do Volumes only,...or Volumes and Tones....) and upgrading to a more solid toggle switch. I've also seen some cap swaps that seem to help,...probably not going to put an orange drop in there though ;)

Kudos to Lakland for helping a guy a out. That's a pretty neat story. That Nashville flood story is heartbreaking for sure.

A local shop was a Reverand dealer for a moment. They had a sexy gold top with cream P-90 styles in it. I wanted it hard,...but they sold it and stopped dealing in Revs. Yours looks sex with the Filtertron/TV Jones style pups.

Thanks for the information: Let me know how the updgrades go, I am constantly upgrading my old squier tele and I don't do enough before and after

I just like the 70s headstock and I have smallish hands but the warwick neck seemed to fit nicely.
