im a noob in general to most things, esplecially things pertaining to bass. so help me out ilf brethren...pls

ill prolly keep asking questions in this thread till i find something i want

id like to buy a cheaper head that sounds good so i can spend more one cabs. but im contemplating goin ahead & shellin out for a nice tube head & building my own cabs. im a fuckin carpenter so i mean it should be easy lol. pls chime in with ideas, im jonesin hard for a bass amp

300 would be a good deal, 400-450 would be the most and it better be in damn fine shape

that's been on there for a while now, probably because they usually sell for 350-400 with shipping.

cool. ive just started seriously looking for an amp & didnt want to jump on the fisrt thing i saw. for there's usually a better deal out there

and honestly i believe the smaller late 70's early 80's red knob solid state heads to sound better, more definition to my ears. The bassist in ancient astronaught uses one of those silver coliseum bass heads and a coliseum slave and they are loud, and have a shit ton of bass but lacking in the upper mid range required for clarity IMO. So it depends on what your looking for silver face = more low end, red knob = more cut.

All I've seen on ebay and craigslist lately is 'gimme money' overpriced crap. Hard to argue with hipsters with money tho. [until they try to flip it and find out they overpaid] :lol:

Kind of. I think the only Sunn head I'd drop more than $600 on would be a 2000S.

Although I might've go upward of that for a 200S if it was in pristine condition.

i just want a cool bass amp. dont know much about em tbh. been doing a little reading here & there, but no major research. anybody know anything about the ampeg b2re? 1 listed on local cl for $350

wait, nvm... just googled em & see em used for less all over. hrmmm i dont know what to spend my monies on
