Just get a few volumes each of Back from the Grave, Nuggets, and Garage Punk Unknowns comps and you'll be set...

Most of my faves have been mentioned (Guitar Wolf, Teengenerate, Mummies, Brimstone Howl...), but I'll add Devil Dogs, Mad Daddys, Pussy Galore, New Bomb Turks, and Gaunt to the list...

This times a million. Harlem opened for a Dead Weather concert last year and I melted in awe.

Call me old fashioned;

MC5
The Sonics
The Stooges
13th Floor elevators (though some consider them Psych)
Blue Magoos
The Kingsmen

I never really got into the garage revival thing, it just seemed like fuzz and 4 on the floor beats. They seem to be missing that certain something. Except the Hives...I fucking love the Hives.

Do Spacemen 3 count?

I suspect the genre police think otherwise, but Revolution has always sounded like the best stooges song the stooges never wrote:

I was listening to Revolution a week or two ago in the van, and when I looked down at the speedometer, I was going 75 in a 45. It's all anticipation for 'I'm sooooooooooooo sick'. :lol:

Glad to see the Lyres are represented here!

Check out anything Billy Childish or Holly Golightly have been involved with. Garage Punk Royalty.
