kudzu played a classy strip club one time. it was really bizarre, strippers kept trying to dance to our music and a whole bunch of underaged kids snuck in the back and harassed strippers all night.
also i just bought a vuvuzela, and i played it all night. everyone wanted to kill me. one stripper told me to "go to hell".

Mechanics shop. The "promoters" dad owned it and he would throw parties there all the time. It was a great atmosphere and everyone got into it real hard. Lots of thrashing about on my part...then I jumped off the other guitarists full stack, landed in an oil puddle and fell face first into the edge of a metal grate that was covering the adjacent oil trap. Chipped my front tooth...best show I ever played.

I play pizza places all the time! One here has a pretty good set-up downstairs for shows. And free pizza!

The weirdest show I ever played was at a college dorm (that I thankfully no longer live at, but that's a different story).

the entire show was captured here

funny stuff, man. the RA that set it up turned my amp all the way down, but on my amp, and I run my rusty box on my board, so...it did nothing.

Because of your avvy, I always picture you as the goofy kid with the SG.

At any rate, the head bob to ears plugged ratio is fantastic. Well done.

Hahaha! I can only imagine how loud it was in there, especially with 2 drummers.
...anyone notice the group of people that looks like they're running away, like right when the song picks up?

I was thinking about that show at the redneck house, and remembered how I actually had a pretty good time. There were like 3 different times people tried to fight me...one of which while we were playing on "stage"(back porch). A random cool guy warned me a few dudes were gonna rush me, so I motioned to them to go for it and started to bring my bass up to batting position. They backed off, go figure. Last song we played was the Exploited "sex and violence," cause a small skirmish broke out amongst them instead. Sad part is...I was the only person in the band that would have defended myself against anyone. The rest of the dudes were kind of pussies. I love them, but they were. At some point, I told someone I would kill anyone that came near me, and I guess they bought it. What fun adolescents was.

The weirdest place I ever played was a junkyard in Cecil County MD. The stage was the back of a big flatbed truck and I remember my bass kept shocking me cause it was wet out too.
A lot of other bands played and it was a shitoad of fun from what I can remember cause I dropped a tab just before we started playing so I was cool during our set but the rest of the night was a bit of a blur.

There's this abandoned church near me which a bunch of old punk guys "own" that has gigs occasionally, m,y band played there and had set up the most awesome lighting(our bassists dad works at a company that does lights for arena shows) we had 15 strobes and projector that was showing images from various black and white films like Eraserhead and old porn clips. Imagine that with some dark post rock inside a very reverbing church, pretty much the most awesome thing i've ever done.

That sounds so sick. The acoustics in there must be amazing.

If only there were some huge old pipe organ too.

I don't know what is weirder: playing in a art gallery's backroom that you couldn't leave (literally, the doors were locked by the promoter) or a laundromat.

I vote laundromat.

Why did he lock the door? To keep bands from leaving? To keep the audience(who presumably had already paid) from leaving? Sounds like mondo fire hazard all around.

Aside from the locked doors aspect, ILFest '11 was held in an art gallery's backroom actually, so there's quite a few people on here who could share that experience.

Also played a gig inside a castle tower, Morden Tower built in 1280. Because its small and round the sound just reverbed like hell :joy:
