Anyone using multiple Amp inputs?

Some amps have multiple inputs (don't mean different channels). Usually, one will have a different tone than the other for example. Does anyone use both at the same time? Like with stereo pedals or anything?

I've done it before, but for very short amounts of time. Thinking about trying it with my HAO rust ride>200s. Pretty sure the direct out, is literally wired directly from the input. Thinking this might help with some of the inherent brightness of the effect. (if you're thinking why not use it in the low mode...all the highs and mids get removed completely it seems)

One of the reasons I love my Traynor Bass Master. I use a giant amount of fuzz into the darker input - Megalith, or Tonebender + Brassmaster, or Thundercloud + Pharoah. And then an overdrive or fuzz with a lot of treble on tap into the bright channel - Monarch or Octave Drone set to treble. Two amps is better, but multiple amp inputs are pretty close.

One of my old guitarists had both of his inputs on his MIG 50 running simultaneously... the details escape me. I think whoever owned it before him fucked with it.

Yep. I use an ABY box and use both channels of my JC-120 separately or together...have different effects chains for each. It's awesome. Space Station > Holy Grail > Noise Supressor for Channel 1, EQD Hoof > DOD FX90 for Channel 2.

What would be the point of a y cable for my use? I have stuff (splitters, etc) the run stereo rigs already. If I did that, I would end up with 2 identical signals, where the goal was trying to get some lows back, by using a direct and wet out simultaneously, on the same amp...unless I used my splitter before the Rust Ride.

I do the dual channel thing all the time with my other amps. That's a bit different cause you can eq the signals separately.

Yup, I do. my delay pedal has stereo outs and I usually run the second out into another input of my JC-120, also I have a stereo electric mistress, that I'll put into another input on my JC-120. For reference: the JC-120 has two channels and 4 inputs, one high and one low on channel one which is dry, and one high and one low on the reverb/vibrato/chorus and distortion channel.

on all of these amps with 4 inputs (old marshall, hiwatt, london city, sound city etc.), i do not like the brill/brilliant or whatever called channel. basicly you can mix, if connected as pictured, with both volume knobs the sound of each channel.

Not really chaining channels, but rather using two inputs on the same channel. I've tried the whole chain thing with my Univox before (norm&bright in's on the clean and on the effect channels), but wasn't very impressed. Guess it's not the same with clean amps.

Yes, I've never played a re-issue, but I've heard demo, they don't soudns as good, especially the chorus, and vibrato, even teh distortion is worse. But yes, both channels are independent, it's two 60 watt amps in parralel, the JC-120 also has stereo inputs on the back, but they bypass the pre amp so it's very muddy. But I should really try to make the best of them.

Tried the splitter to RR, other side to amp. It works, but only at low volumes. The RR drowns out the direct too much, so I'm going to try using the behemoth to boost the clean/direct side, and see how that goes.

I have a Silvertone 1482 that I run this way. If I put a patch cord and connect the two different inputs together then I can use all the controls on the front panel at once and it really does make the amp way more versitile.
I really have no clue as to how many other amps have this capability but is pretty neat if you got an amp you can do this with.
