cool stuff. man, it's so cool when your kids get into music. my daughter is 15, i bought her a guitar when she was 10 (Hello Kitty!) that she ignored, but she's really been playing and practicing a lot lately. really cool. I actually bought her a Taylor GS Mini for xmas today. Cool little guit, I'd buy myself a Taylor if I didn't look so ridiculous in slacks. :p Even the case is khaki!

Now if only she liked better music. I was into Sonic Youth and Mudhoney and shit when I was 15.
She just wants to listen to Never Shout Never. Never listen to Never Shout Never, dudes.
Maybe partying will help.

Really cool looking Earth head there. It looks suspiciously like my Plush. Maybe a transition period piece? hmmmm. Nice regardless.

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

Yeah, I think it's important to let the kids play. My kids just love to do noise. The eldest (8 yrs) is pretty good in it, too, with the RotYrBrain and the pedalboard. Every one of them understands the fun of blasting the shit out of my pedals, so it proves I must be right, like my wife says. Some un-biased critics. And the singing bowls and the exotic/funny/weird stuff... the eldest also seems to be pretty close to learn the circular breathing to play the didgeridoo better than I do.

Sure I watch over, when when they are messing around with my instruments but that way they get familiar with them early. They all love to strum and fool around with my basses, haven't cared to learn much chords yet, but since the eldest already plays some simple melodies by keys, it won't be longs she'll accompanies me. If she bothers.

in no way am i supporting never shout never, BUT i must say that just be glad your daughter isn't into soulja boy or wiz khalifa or whatever the fuck kids these days are into. i mean at least the kid plays guitar and writes his own music, unlike a lot of artists in mainstream music. i'm 22, and i grew up on punk and alternative but that was the 90's. i think shitty music tastes in teens is due to the fact that a lot of new mainstream bands/artists seriously suck.

...which is exactly why kids should be taught to make noise music and appreciate that kind of stuff, too, as well as progressive rock and black metal. When they go to school they start to dig all that horrible crap the neighbors kids listen to  so better if they understand making music and learn to appreciate that. :thumb:

Except for when dad's not home :whateva:

She was fed a steady diet of Samurai Math Beats, EVOL, Ziggy Stardust, and Tago Mago, but the first music that really spoke to her was Green Day. :idk:
She likes some dumb rap (so do I) and Taylor Swift, too. I think it's somewhat of a generational thing, and then it's something more, too.
I hope it's just that she's happier than I was (am.) I was a miserable little shit, and far out music was my escape from a bland and unhappy reality.
And despite having two parents who are (naturally?) suspicious of anything that's too easy to digest, she's not like that at all.

It's weird, before I was a parent I thought I would have the most super hipster kids ever, but they'll shock the hell out of you and go the other way.
Honestly, it's not the lack of interest in music that bothers me, it's the lack of interest in reading whatsoever.
Again, I read to her CONSTANTLY and so did the wife, but eh...she only likes to read Facebook.
:picard:

How is that Vox? Does it sound Voxy at all or just high gainish?

I played a WEM like that in a store a couple of months ago. I didn't really like it. How do you use yours, what music etc.?

Love my WEM to bits... great clean platform for pedals... currently use both live, well... other guitarist uses the WEM I use the Carl...

WEM is a 1X15, which to my ears make it sound a lot rounded than most vintage fenders, so I prefer it to most of of the dripedge Fenders...

The wacky thing about this amp is that it MUST warm up about 20 minutes before it sounds "right"... If I turned it on and played it for 15 mins I wouldn't like it... as much...

very direct, very natural compression, even at moderate volumes... love it...

big fan...

oh and music type... well... it's quite diverse... 6 piece all originals... everything from VERY commercial indie-ish POP to more rockin' almost punky rock to almost classic rock via indie...

I have to have something that can take pedals as I need about 6 different sounds for 10 songs...

This thing is brilliant at taking pedals!
