!!!Warning All Online Pedal Purchasers!!!

Post by zahosale »

Hey all,

So I just wanted to give everyone who purchases pedals through online stores and e-bay that heads up about an very rude and unresponsive company who may have flat-out ripped me off named Rogue Guitar Shop (this should not be confused with Pro Guitar Shop, which is a fantastic company).

Recently, I purchased an Empress Vintage-Modified Superdelay from Rogue Guitar Shop, because they had offered me a deal on a new one. I paid them October 1st and was told they had shipped it USPS and was given a tracking number. 4-5 days go by, and I have not received the pedal and see that the shipping status has not changed. I send them an e-mail and received a reply stating that they had accidentally shipped my pedal to guy in California and the shipping status has not changed, because the empty shipping box was still sitting on their desk. They reassured me that the knew this California customer well and that he was shipping it to me last Friday priority mail. Admittedly, a sent him an e-mail that was a bit snippy (rightly so for having $400 float around with no tracking number) but still rather politely expressing my disappointment, how I thought this situation seemed very shady, and stating that had I ordered it through Pro Guitar Shop, who had recently offered VMSD's on sale for $400, I would have been given a tracking number and would have had the pedal by now. He responded saying that I was ungrateful for the discount, it was an honest mistake and they were being upfront (which explains why they never told me that my pedal had been shipped to the wrong person until I asked them, hah!) and concluded with saying that it should arrive by mid-week (this week), but he frankly did not care when I got the pedal. I have not received any more updates nor a tracking number, the pedal has not arrived yet, and I when I tried to call the physical location of their store I received an operator message saying this number is not accepting calls at this time.

I wanted to let everyone know about this incident and seller, so that they may be cautious if someone may ever chose to order from them. With so many other online retailers and not to mention local shops which need more support than anyone else, why a buyer have to deal with such unfriendly and reliable service and then be told that they are ungrateful?

Thanks. Pass this around. While he may not care when my pedal arrives, he may care if he loses hundreds of potential customers, because his awful business conduct has been passed around the forum.

People describing themselves as "rogue" on their own initiative , well, you generally want to keep an eye on your wallet around them.

Maybe you should contact eBay.

I remember someone on HCFX having problems with Rogue, if I'm not mistaken. It eventually got sorted out, but was a shit situation nonetheless.

Hope things work out for you, man.

If you paid for it with paypal via ebay, file a paypal dispute. They'll freeze the $ owed in the sellers account until they provide actual verification of the pedal's delivery. If they don't reply to the dispute, you'll be auto-refunded in 7 days. If the pedal shows up by magic after that, you might get to keep it too.

You should also be able to file a payment complaint to a credit card company if you paid for it with a credit card via web or phone.
