Possibly a issue with the calibration on my pedal specifically but if you push the tune/delay or width knobs anywhere past 12 o'clock it produces the most annoying high pitched, swarm of insect clock whining I've ever heard from any pedal, ever. Totally unusable.

Most likely an isolated incident as I can't imagine EHX sending 'em all out like this. Regardless, I'm going with the new Mid-Fi Pitch Pirate Deluxe. About done with EHX, for realz!

I don't know about an isolated incident. I grabbed one too, and, well, this is the first pedal i've actually just straight up given away. It sucked that bad. I felt bad for trying to get cash or a trade for it. Seriously...

Yea, this sucks, major letdown.

I do plan on exchanging, also waiting on a response from EHX tech support but I'm not very optimistic. Like J-Fuzz mentioned, it's so bad I can't even sell or trade it later without feeling like a total dick. A return/refund seems pretty likely.

EHX has been a let down for some time now.

Yeah? I've yet to be disappointed with an EHX product.

Simmilar thing happened with the first batch of Memory Boys or one of those products I recall, just poorly callibrated in the factory, they received the complaints and amended the callibration procedure once they were aware of it.

There last step of quality control seems to be missing... but given the cost of the pedals for what you get, that's the way it goes, sure it'll resolve in time.

Are there any internal trimmers or ways to recalibrate it after it's left the factory? It would be very cool if these could be made usable...

There are several accessible trimmers but I'm scared to go messing with 'em. Hoping tech support can guide me through the procedure to get it resolved. As mentioned above, there's a good chance it's a batch issue, just miscalibrated. If not, EHX may as well give up on this release.

I'll update with the end result, soon hopefully.

Yeah, if you can get it to a usable range, that would be awesome - definitely let us know if they can walk you through it...

Right, they kinda just snuck it in there, under the marketing department radar for sure.

It's actually on it's way to EHX for replacement, just dropped it off at UPS. Apparently they've received some complaints and it's not a simple issue of trim adjustment. I'd be happy to throw one up of the replacement, iPhone-style. Customer support assures me it will be indistinguishable from the big box when I receive a properly constructed XO. We'll see...

The sound was god awful though, high-pitched electrical buzzing/whining that rang out over everything once the delay was pushed just a bit. Sounded like a POG with only upper octaves engaged plus fizz/buzz so bad you wanted to smash it into tiny pieces.
