The Cosmichorus sounds wonderful, but it's hard to call something the best chorus ever if it doesn't work in stereo.

If you're looking for "just" a chorus, I'd recommend the BYOC analogue chorus- it's cheap, easy to build and sounds lovely. Doesn't get crazy like some of the pedals mentioned above, but it works with pretty much any fuzz/ phase/ flange combination i've ever tried, whereas alot of the pedals with more "character" simply don't.

But hell, if I could trade it up for a pedal which sounded like a spaceship slamming into a burning orchestra pit filled with jelly and nitrous oxide, I would :)

In my experience, I found that with the Sea Machine it was difficult to dial out the warble and just get a
straight glassy chorus, not bashing warbley chorus I just found the sea machine not very versitile despite its like
a million knobs. Cosmichorus on the other hand does warble, glass, and even flanging

I guess it's a YMMV thing with using words to describe noises, but I find it pretty easy to get non warbly sounds with the sea machine if you set everything pretty low. :idk: I do wish it did flangey sounds though.

If you don't want the warble, forget chorus (kill it with fire!) and get a DC-2 (or a Fromel Lush).

See, this is where the chorus preference thing comes in between the Sea Machine and the Cosmi. The Sea Machine seems well set up to take the warble up to another level - you can get all sorts of rhythmic stuff out of it that goes beyond standard chorus. However, I find that with the depth knob, you can get a whole level of quasi-verb-chorus that I find really appealing.

Personally, I used to hate chorus, but the Arion & Sea Machine changed me. Now I wish I had two of each, and two Cosmis besides!

For just regular chorus stuff I still love my CE-2 and Small Clone. Obviously neither of those do crazy extreme wackiness, but they sure do what they do well.

Isn't it bothersome to only have two preset Depth settings? I've yet to actually play a Small Clone (the two shops in my town don't stock EHX for some reason) but I'd have bought one anyway if it wasn't for that. Seems pretty inflexible - is it?

Not if you get an Analogman Chorus! Small Clone w/ depth knob. Boom! Problem solved. haha. Then again, you're paying an extra $200 for that depth knob. Modding a SC should be pretty simple. If you drill a hole for the depth knob, you could use the old depth switch for a vibrato mod.
