I just signed up here. I like hanging out on a few other music/guitar/bass related boards but I don't like the heavy moderation... this place seems a lot more laid back than some, and judging by the topics in the general discussion (33 page beer thread?!?!) I will have a good time here.

Welcome Spagett to our moderately unmoderated I Love Fuzz forum.
If the 33 pages beer thread made You feel drawn here, I can promise You that some of the historical threads will give the mods from the other forums You've been to a fucking heart attack. And I have a good reason to believe we'll witness a plenty of those awesome threads and jaw dropping one liners and stuff in future, too. Just about anything goes here but being an asshole
We've done with a simple rule like that thus far, let's keep it that way.Hang around, learn and love thy neighbors fuzz like Your own. Be nice and contribute and You'll make great friends here. Mind the
hairy elder members on Monday mornings and take notes on their behavior so they wont bite off Your street creds.

Huh. Never posted in here. That makes me a bad person.
Matt Maxwell, born before Woodstock if that helps. Started playing in my 20s then basically dropped everything for more than a decade. Came back to it because...well because noise.
Fender Tele Special is my main guitar, though I also play an Eko and a Mosrite Celebrity (which does not like my latest fuzz so much, well it does like to feedback; learning to tame it right now). Sometimes play a Moog Opus 3. Both into a Musicman 112/65w.
Musicwise, I'm all over the map. It was the music of Spacemen 3/Spectrum/The Darkside/Spiritualized that probably first inspired me to actually pick up a guitar. Listen to a lot of drone/doom/metal/experimental right now, but don't actually play any. Hard to classify what The Roswell Incident (that being the band I play in) actually does. Minimal, chord-based, spacy, sometimes heavy. Drone works as well as a genre designation as any.
Effects chain right now -
Big Muff (Russian Green, tall font) - Gnomeratron VTF - Ibanez FL-9 flange - Doppleganger (reintroducing it into my setup, still wrestling with it, leave it off more often than on) - El Capistan for echo duty (though I've used Boss analog and digitals as well as a Digitech Time Machine) - out to amp.
This changes radically and often. I love love love the VTF, but can't bear to part with the Muff.
http://theroswellincident.bandcamp.com. You can also dial in The Roswell Incident as a station on Last.fm (working on getting more tracks/art there shortly).

Hi, I'm Stonergrunge from Chile and this is my first post!
Just like my username indicates, I'm into stoner rock, grunge, classic rock, a little bit of doom and some other weird genres. I've been playing guitar since 1996 but started to take it more seriously (and "trying" to improve) since 2006.

fuzzypumpkins wrote:Hi. Name's Jordan. I spend a lot of time (probably too much) on Rig-Talk, which is pretty great for discussing the amps I'm most interested in. Not a lot of fuzz love there however...So, that's why I'm here:)
I always have a handful of pedals on hand but have never had a "proper" pedalboard. I'd like to put a board together with clean wiring/power and a nice assortment of pedals. Hopefully you guys/gals can introduce me to some unique pedals!
My main od pedals are a Lovepedal Eternity and Xotic BB+. I've had many others that have come and gone: OCD v4, TS9, Jekyll & Hyde, Surreal More (should've kept that one) and several others...
Currently interested in London Fuzz germanium. Ok, I'll quit blabbing now.
I own it, great pedal with a decent amount of sputter but yet very musical sounding.

Hello and stuff.
I'm Justin, I don't particularly like forums, but I do love fuzz. My friend was showing me some stuff being sold on here, which led to some browsing, and I have come to the conclusion that it is fairly awesome.

I signed up a while ago and pop in now and then to check stuff out. Maybe I will hang around a bit more now that I notice that this forum has a much nicer vibe than most.
I play guitar, bass, and screw around with the keys. Taking shit apart and building stuff is something I do a lot too. All effects are cool but fuzz is king.
It is especially cool that there are the forums for the small builders. I have always been into the DIY attitude. Reading MaximumRockNRoll and getting into punk music in the 80's have opened my mind to different ways of doing things.
Right now I am on the wait list for a Midfi Deluxe Pitch Pirate and I can see that will be tons of fun in my noise making adventures. There are a whole lot of cool effects that I would love to check out in the future too.
Thanks for letting me hang out. -Will

Hey, I'm MK
Been lurking for too long now... decided to finally contribute.
I play a 65' Mustang RI and a 72' Tele Deluxe RI. I'm into pedals that accept CV, reverb etc.

Hi, I'm AC.
Haven't posted much here on ILF as I usually get caught up reading more than replying. I'm gonna change that and be a bit more social.
Been playin' bass since I was 13 and now I'm 30.
I've spent the last 10 years or so in working original bands....Out of Orbit (2002-2008) and Ungrained (2009-2011). I've got a new project started but have had some serious life-changing events occur that have me back in VA instead of Raleigh where I lived for the last 7 years.
I'm a fuzz junkie and love effects as creative tools to help me write.....even if I don't implement them live or with a band.
I bought the 9th Algal Bloom that Tom ever made and had him mod it with germanium diodes and bigger caps for bass. I sold it in a pinch and regret it immensely.
I've flipped a lot of gear that I regret but I've learned to hold onto things longer and not make snap judgements. Sometimes you end up needing what you once had and took for granted....
Cheers!

What guitar is that in your avatar, chank?
Also welcome to all of you. If you want good fatherly advice on how to behave in here, either check the last three or so pages until you come by one of the regular welcoming posts of Bassus Sanguinus or take it from me: be insane, be wild, fuck around. Just follow the one and only rule to end all rules: Don't be an asshole!

maxwellm, iFuzz, Stonergrunge, jsfabn, willc, lions!, Chaosmic. believe what phantasmagorovich said above, I trust his judgment in this subject 100%.
It's nice, free, raunchy as fuck and relatively un-modded in here, let's keep it that way.
AND
see You around the forum, post naughty pics of You fuzzy pedal board and stuff.

The guitar in my avatar is my dream guitar, a Magnatone Mark V.
I've wanted one ever since seeing James Brewer play one in the documentary And This Is Free.
It also happens to be the only image on my hard drive that meets the size limitations for avatar pics.
