So I'm going to start doing pedal reviews and whatnot.

The site will be called Resonance/Consonance, and the preview/intro video is here:

And the blurb from the bottom of the video that I think explains why I'm gonna do it pretty accurately.

"Resonance/Consonance will be a site dedicated to putting pedals through their paces with amplified electric violins, baritone guitars, keys, fretless basses, jamming alone, with others, and in full band situations.

More or less anything that isn't your average Stratocaster and some blues scales effects demos that I find leave so much I'd like to see.

Here, a baritone guitar is running through a smallsound/bigsound FUCK Overdrive, a Coloursound Swell volume, an Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man with Tap Tempo and a Boomerang III Phrase Sampler, into a clean Fender Blues Deluxe.

Full articles and reviews coming soon.

http://www.resonanceconsonance.tumblr.com"

Not looking for lots of views/followers or whatever. Just thought I'd let some folks know. Submissions will probably be welcome also. Still have a lot of design work to do and that kinda stuff. Bear with me.

Whatever you do, don't use your sexuality to get views.
While TGP will get a hard on, ILF will wage jihad.

Seriously though, can't wait to read/hear some reviews.

Neat! I look forward to your progress with this! Remember! PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES! [and upload, don't just link] A good chunck of my traffic on both my blogs come from image searches on google image.. the rest is: here, actual searches, youtube and the odd "how the fuck did they get here from there?"

Seeing as you're Ireland based I'd like to submit a pedal or two if possible.

Looking forward to it, I've considered doing regular reviews of stuff myself but it gets in the way of actual recording for me. :(

Damn, that's a hell of a response! Thanks dudes!

I'm actually currently writing up the FUCK Overdrive review in another tab. Yeah, also, whilst recordings may be iPhone bound for the moment, I have a high quality microphone that I'll be attaching to it that gets a fairly decent sound. And hopefully when things aren't so tight I'll be able to upgrade somewhat. I'm trying to sort out my sounds at the minute so maybe I'll find a few gems through doing this and taking to people about it.

I'm trying to do this from the perspective of somebody who's just into music, and sounds, rather than a gear snob. I'll give pro's to everything, and cons when I find them, but just from the perspective of a working musician. Well. Hungry, working musician. I'll try and give varied enough examples of each pedal, in as many scenarios as I try them in. I may return to the same pedals later with different instruments.

I'm rehearsing over the next two days, so I'll be getting some more band usability opinions then (though I don't want to clutter up the site with my actual bands music, so when we have new recordings out, you'll hear the pedals in that context then. I record jams pretty frequently, so it won't be too long). Any music/recordings on the site will just be riffs Im working on, or random sessions with friends or whatever. I'll try and make sure there's at least one example of an instrument or two being played in a "song" context, or something like it for the sake of it, rather than ripping through a scale and then doing it with the pedal on.

Thanks for all the advice, and support, guys. I dig it. I dig you.

Absolutely. PM me with details of the arrangement you'd like to work out and and I'll let you know how soon I can help! Nice to now some folks over here are building stuff!

EDIT: I may start putting up the videos on Vimeo too, and embed the ones on the site with that, much better quality.

Please remember to occasionally try whatever you're demoing with other pedals etc as well!

We may not have the specific delay or flanger o r whatever you're using any more than the specific amp/instrument...but it's good to hear how a particular pedal plays well (or not) with others.

Yeah, not as many people demo the pedals when stacked. This is a good idea.
Good luck with this.

Will do! The written reviews will be pretty long, and hopefully in-depth. I won't be able to record every sound I descibe, but I'll do my best to get a mixof them. I'll be utilizing Soundcloud as well. Hopefully the things won't take 10 years to load.

And thanks!

Based on your band's record alone this will be worth following, that and baritone guitar versions.
