It looks worse in person... but still. There's a hole in my thumb. And it hurts... and it's right on the joint... and yeah.

The drill snagged.

I always just type "il" into my browser and it autocompletes to ILF's website, but for some reason Chrome has stopped cooperating. Now when I'm procrastinating I keep doing searches that give me a ton of results about Illinois.

allright well besides beautiful and awesome girls and cool guys, college sucks

... not sleeping enough -> fucking tired, unable to work as needed...
... not having much free time because of the amount of reading...
... being cranky, depressed and afraid at the same time because of those two...

i just maybe have some kind of crysis, but i think i'm fucked... i have a huge reading delay that i'm not entirely responsible for, i just basically don't cope

and i should... because my class schedule is fucking ridiculously empty?

did i mention i don't even have time for watching my youtube subscriptions?

I hate people. People are the dumbest most terrible people on the planet.

Rage entry 1:
Yesterday morning one of my friend gets his car towed. So after he got out of classes at 8:30 last night he asked me to give him a ride to the tow lot. Because it was requested towed by a police officer we had to first go to the police station to fill something out and find out where the car was towed to. We find out it was towed to the furthest lot from Boston that services the area. It's like 45 minutes away. So we get there, and we pull up to the security booth and say "We're here to pick up a car that got towed." and the guy tells us that there isn't a tow lot there, that we're in the wrong place. So we say well the address of the tow lot is whatever, and this is that address, but not he says the tow lot isn't there. So we leave and drive around the neighbourhood, and we call the lot and they tell us that it is at that address. So we go back and the guy in the security booth tells us that no we must be in the wrong town or something because the tow lot isn't there. So we leave call again, same deal. We go back and just drive through security without stopping and go around back behind the building there, and there's the tow lot. It was just closing, but we managed to get the car out. Not only did some guy fuck with us for no reason, but he almost cost my friend a ton of money, since it's like $15 per hour that its at the lot.

Rage entry 2:
The bus I take to work is the 34E. It parks in a spot at the station with a sign labeled 34E. Occasionally the signs on the buses don't work, but it's ok because those signs at the station still let you know which bus is which. Today the sign on the bus didn't work, but it was in the 34E spot so I got on. It wasn't the 34E. I road it to the last stop - at which point I realized my error - which was still mad far away from my work, and had to run the last few miles.

Rage entry 3:
The inspection on my car is expired, but I go to work before auto shops open and get home after they close, and I work on weekends as well. (Think maybe I could have a friend take it in for me? Nope. I drive standard, and they all drive automatic.) I've been waiting for a day off so that I could get a new inspection. I have been getting a ticket every single day for the expired inspection. Once I got two in one day. I have tried moving my car all over in the hopes that it will be somewhere that they either don't check or where someone will miss it. No luck. So several days ago I wrote an email to the parking tickets department describing the situation:

"I have been waiting for a day off work to get a new inspection. In the meantime though I have received so many tickets - all for inspection - that I can neither pay them all off nor afford an inspection. Is there a way to get some of these tickets waived since they are all for the same thing, or at least somehow prevent any further ticketing until I can get an inspection? Please help me with this. Thank you."

This morning I got a response. This is that response copied and pasted:

"There is nothing we can do unfortunatly ,sorry."

So, not only am I screwed, but this person couldn't be bothered to check their spelling or put a damn comma in the right place. They also didn't even include a "Sincerely, ___________" or something to that effect. I think these things bother me more than the content of the email.

Last night after giving my friend a ride, I parked my car outside of Boston entirely, and then got a ride back in, so that I hopefully get no more tickets until I have time to get an inspection.

To reiterate. I hate people.

those aren't problems with people in general; they're problems with a specific subset of people, public agency employees. though from bitter experience i learned long ago to always ask "is this the XX?" whenever getting on a bus whenever there was any ambiguity involved...out here the bus routes are often horribly circuitous and by the time you get to the first stop you can be a mile in the wrong direction from your destination, which is never fun when you're supposed to be at work ten minutes ago.

Doesn't help with the money related issues unfortunately, but thank you.

I know. Drives me crazy though. I wouldn't treat people like that. I wouldn't even treat them - the people screwing me - like that. Whenever I have gotten my car towed or something, the people I have to deal with always seem surprised at how polite I am with them.

I usually would, but it didn't make sense for there to be any other bus but the correct one there today. Because, each of the other bus lines had buses there in their spaces. The one I got on happened to be an extra of one of those lines that was running off schedule and had parked in the wrong spot.

i believe it's traditional to have a crisis of this nature at this point in one's first semester...college forces you to prioritize and self-organize much more than secondary school, and to do so in an unfamiliar setting where you're on your own. you just have to place things in order of importance and do them in the amount of time available. multitasking helps enormously; you can read/write drafts of papers on laptop/tablet/in longhand while cooking, riding the bus, pooping, doing laundry, etc. Take two books with you everywhere you go. having a coffee? read a book. having a sandwich, or a smoke? book. get sick of one? switch to the other...that's why you took two. use logic to outsmart yourself and thus find ways to use your time more effectively :) and take *copious* notes...they'll be invaluable in reconstructing all the things you don't remember when studying for finals/writing term papers. notes saved me so many times when i was in school i can't even TELL you.
