that's just disgusting..
I am not too upset, I have talked too danny multiple times and he is making sure it is nice before it ships out. I just hope it comes too me sometime this week.

Also, just a general heads up to people: if you're not stacking these VTF > AA, you should really try at some point. That's a trick I picked up from Bronzetalon, and it has become one of the go-to's in my arsenal. You want it even crazier? All right then, VTF in magic mode > AA. Sheer, howling, feedback-laced, blooming, oversaturated, amp-on-fire beauty.

This so much, also stacking the VTF into the AA can help tame the VTFs volume a bit.

Me too. Apparently the process to do the tops is very dependent upon the temp, and he's had some issues all summer trying to get them to cure correctly. Hopefully we'll get them soon.
modernage wrote:So, the Spunckies spent the week with me. I really enjoyed the saturation of the AA at maxed gain. It cleans up nicely with the volume knob on the guitar too. At times I wish there was a bit more treble on the tone knob. The toggle on the side is awesome though. Adds a lot of variety and dimension to the pedal. I can see why this would be a hit with bassists. Love the low end. I'll be honest, at first I wasn't super impressed by the AA. I thought it was a solid OD, but with 4 other ODs in my arsenal (Rat, WIIO, Timmy, KoT clone, plus the whole in my heart ever since I sold my SHOD) I couldn't really see myself picking one up, but after really diving into it tonight I may have fallen in love. The price tag is definitely an attractive feature too.
I almost had the opposite experience with the Gnome. I immediately got some great tones from the Gnome, but had a difficult time finding my way back after exploring other settings. Soooo many knobs! It's also so flippin loud! I haven't been able to find out a way to simmer down on the volume without losing all the balls and fuzz. I'm going to do some studying in the Shark Tank to get a better understanding of all the controls. This thing is more complicated than Soul Caliber IV. I know this is a great fuzz. I just need to give it another day or two before I send it out, so I can crack this code. I know I can figure it out. After all I did end up mastering Soul Caliber IV.
I never did tame the Gnome. I could see myself getting a mini at some time though (most likely the Standard or br00tz version).... and an AA. I'm a sucker for overdrives.
Got the pedals during lunch today had about 5 minutes to play with them.
First impressions: Both: Finish is insane, everything looks solid and that clear coat is too sweet. And Aardvarkes is friggen reynolds style, great drive tons of all good sounding tones, I could see myself owning one, and recomending it to everyone
Gnome needs more time, so many options, got some really nasty sounds out of it but have to do some research and find out what everything means (shark tank has info right??) LED was a bit goofy but I know that is a repeat issue from earlier post
What are the picks in the box for? Should I add picks??
Pedals sound awesome and I barely scratched the surface, hoping to do some poorly filmed demos at some point. I used my ESP/LTD M with Dimarzios and ran them into my blues Junior, will try other combos of stuff tonight.
Also have to run them with other pedals to see what evil I can make, anyone want to know how they sound with a Pog, whammy? I sure do!

Hey dudes, I'm not in on this tourbox but I own both pedals, the Gnome being a Deluxe. I definitely spent a TON of time dialing that mofo in and trying to tame it, then struggling to re-achieve those crazy ass tones. I found an OD after the Gnome REALLY helps control the volume (I've seen this mentioned here) as does the output booster trimpot on the left side, top trimmer on mine. I turn it down, pretty much all the way.
Also, here's an online Manual (care and feeding instructions) posted by McS that helps a bunch. Offers a nice breakdown of each control along with explaining how they interact.

Yeah, I was struggling until I discovered and read over that manual. Once you grasp the controls and settings, it's like the most versatile fuzz monster ever!
