dragonball movie?

Post by Pirate »

What the fuck is this shit? Can someone please explain to me what they were thinking when they decided to make this?It looks nothing like the comic,or the the anime.I can understand making a movie based on the series, but come on at least make it resemble it somewhat.Opinions?

I Used to be a big drgaonball fan when i was in my younger years.

but now it seems kinda lame.
too many spinoffs and all this junk.
the movie looks crappy. definably low budget.
suckish.

but im not gunna judge the plot til i see it.
In a country as big as the united states you can find 50 examples of.

I liked Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT.I was never into the movies, or anything. The original series is still definitely a favorite though, and its sad seeing it be ruined.

That's because the author was not really into the anime... anime was made by toei company, the author just draw the manga, which is one of my favourite stories.

Another benefit is 120 minute fights take only 5 minutes to read!

I wonder if the movie is going to be all filler like the shows were?

Anyway, I won't see it. It's based on a Chinese story, yet there seem to be only two Chinese guys in it. How can you tell the story of the Emperor's Journey West if everyone in the movie is white?

Well I was really excited about the movie, so I'm kind of in denial about how bad it LOOKS. Why is everyone acting like the movie has already failed, just wait until the movie comes out to judge. And if the movie was too much like the series, it would be a little kid with crazy hair ridding around on a cloud with some friends. Doesn't sound like a good big screen translation to me. I think they should have gone straight to DBZ movies. It's definitely the best series in my opinion, GT was really good too I just hated Dragonball; too cartoony.

I always hated the show when I was younger. The movie might be a good "so bad it's good" rental.

A chinese movie was made back in the 90's... no copyright, not much money, wire-fu moves and chinese humour. I really laughed with that one. Mutenroshi was fucking great there!!

Ugh! I am not looking forward to this at all.

Not that I hate Dragonball itself so much. It was never my cup of tea (like someone else mentioned earlier, I also would get tired of waiting through 2 episodes of warm-up for a 5 minute fight), but if you like it... hey, more power too ya.

What always irritated me were the really rabid Dragonball fans.

For instance, just have a quick look at the user reviews for anime over on iTunes. For anything that might be considered moderately alternative (read: moderately interesting; Lain, for instance, or FLCL), you'll see a couple of legitimate reviews. Then you find a bunch of obnoxious 12-year-olds posting nothing but "It's not Dragonball. This sucks!" or "MORE DRAGONBALL!!!!".

And Gods forbid you should get into a discussion with 'em about something kinda cool but which they find "babyish". Full Metal Achemist, Inuyasha, and Digimon all come to mind here. :wha?:

This will just encourage them more, IMNSHO. As I said: ugh!

Saw the movie. Much better than it looked!!! A lot of people will probably disagree though. It's definitely not a mainstream movie and stays very true to the show, which I liked and hated. Dragonball was a very light and silly show and so is the movie (all though tons of people probably think it should be like DBZ which is a very different show). It's very silly and strange in a Japanese sort of way. Goku stills acts all cheesily heroic, master Roshi is just crazy old master Roshi, Yamcha is a cocky douche bag that only Bulma likes, Bulma is bossy and annoyingly confident; pretty much everyone stays very true to their character except Chi-chi who isn't a mean bitch and she knows how to fight :idk: . Decent movie, it was just too silly and cheesy (too much like the show). I still maintain that they should have just gone right to DBZ films.
