+1.

I'm drunk and sad enough to totally nail an audition with The Replacements right now.

But, you know, tomorrow might be better.

On the other hand: "I cried when I was born and I shall die laughing" is one of my gun-to-the-head favorite quotes in all of recorded human history.

i'm not drunk, but i'm full of tranquilizers and antidepressants and sad, which should at least qualify me for a spot in Flying Saucer Attack. which would suit me better than the 'Mats anyway, really.

I love her, really deeply love her. Laugh at me, be skeptical but i really mean it. and i don't want to lose her and i'll do whatever i can against it

anyway i'm resolved to try and fight... but she's really sad and depressed, she's been like that for past two days... shifting from laughing and making fun to crying... she was OK when i left home but now i spoke to her on the phone and she basically feels like she's already lost me and she's really frightened for us...

I'm doing what i can, i don't know what to say to her anymore :( :( :(

i'm leaving tomorrow

Dude, that really sucks, sorry to hear that. My wife and I were kind of like that at the start of our relationship, actually. I lived about an hour away from her, we were both going to separate colleges, etc. But to be honest, it probably helped us in the long run. That distance let us both see each other on the weekends, but we still had personal space when we needed it. It can definitely still work.

Give her some space for a little while, I've only been married about 3 months now, but I'll say this: sometimes, there is nothing you can say that will make her happy. Sometimes you just have to let her work through it. It'll be tough on you especially, because you'll want to fix it immediately, but give it a shot.

Nice to hear that, bro :) thanks :)

maz91379 wrote:You can make anything you want out of any situation 2.5 hrs is nothing if you guys are serious about staying together. If either of you don't see it working then just break up it will save you a bunch of time and you wont end up being horrible to each other. :idk: I'd be sketched out if a girlfriend was freaking out about such a small distance but idk just talk to her how you don't want to end it over something stupid and temporary and how you will still get to see her rather frequently.

Also although i now regret it sorta i drew out a relationship i had been in for 4 months for two years by moving to australia and keeping up with skype and such and flying back during my summer. It worked for those two years pretty well until it didn't lol so i don't see why short distances and seeing each other every week or two wouldn't work. I ended up giving up being social with friends and actually doing stuff/ meeting new people because i felt guilty or didn't want to be put into a sketchy girl situation which i regret 3 years down from first getting here.

My point is think about it and it might not be worth the hassle in the long run although you are in a situation that could make it work if both of you are on board. :thumb:

yeah, i totally can see it working but you know - it's so new to both of us so i'm not surprised she's freaking out. I think it will be OK, she probably just needs some time to absorb and reflect ;)

thanks for you kind words, guys - it's nice to see people with similar experience that made it work

Don't get vanilla Chobani yogurt.

You'd think it would be great 'cause all the other flavors are great. But it's awful, I think "vanilla" just means "unflavored". I threw some fruit in there in order to save it, but it was too far gone.

I just ate a cup of this and kind of felt the same.
Definitely prefer all the other flavors I've tried (except lemon, which was similar to vanilla).

I just found out last night that I am getting screwed at my day job so badly. I am so far below what I should be getting paid it's ridiculous.

Hunt for new job begins today.
