EH Microsynth - can I daisychain or use a multi power supply

So I have all my pedals hooked into a MOEN Zip daisy chained power supply 9V 1.5A. I just got a EH Micro Synthesizer and the power supply says output 24v dc 100ma. I want to be able to have an alternate setup without my MOEN GEC9 and swap the Microsynth and other pedals into the board. Can I daisy chain it along with the other pedals or am I stuck using the AC adaptor it came with? I'd rather not. I'm paranoid i'm gonna destroy the Microsynth if I experiment.



Also, any of you have ideas on where I can get a matching piece of rubber for the upper half of my Dearmond?

No, you need 24V. A dedicated 9V adapter wouldn't even be sufficient, much less one that's daisy-chained. Not sure if you'd destroy it at lower voltage but I imagine it wouldn't sound the best

You could run it off a PP2+ or some similar supply if you wanted a do-it-all type of thing for your board but that requires a voltage doubler.

The new XO version even goes as far to include a sticker above the power input warning against any form of daisy chaining with the MicroSynth line.

Good lookin' out. You're talking about using the 2 12v outputs with a voltage doubling cable, I assume.

Not sure if i'm really into spending the money for the alternate setup but at least it's an option. Wish I had room on the board to mount it perm but theres not really any room.

Would I be able to daisy chain off one of the regular 9V outputs? Under normal Voodoo conditions, if I used the 2 12v outputs to power the Microsynth, i'd be left with 6 separate 9v outputs and 7 units to power (DD7, Grunge, Fuzz, Chorus, Phase 100, Pickle, and tuner) and i'd definitely want the option to add 1 or two more pedals.

The white square is the Voodoo 2 and the tuner could velcro onto the top of it which would actually be cool. Ac cable would exit on the left side. Hmmm. This might work. Thanks.

Yep, since the MicroSynth only needs 100mA, you could use the voltage doubler cable with 2 standard 100mA outs (switched from 9V to 12V via dip switch) and get the 24V you need. That leaves you with 6 more outs, two of which are the high current 9V 250mA outs. It's these high current outs that would be ideal to daisy chain as most pedals have a pretty low mA draw, just double check that shit.

Only drawback to daisy-chaining is you'll lose isolation on that particular out, possibly introducing some noise, but it's usually not an issue.

You also have the courtesy AC out/plug on the PP2+ which can be used for any pedal that can't be powered, just plug the adapter in there. This outlet isn't isolated either, again possible noise.

I've always had bad luck with EHX stuff on daisy chains. Even when they're getting enough power, they're noisy. Tried SMMH, Holy Stain, Ring Thing.

It would only be 1 EH pedal on the 24v output, all the rest would be isolated except for maybe 1 or two. Not a big issue since I play grindcore and rip volume then cut off the sound with the tuner. I just won a Voodoo 2+ on ebay for cheap. Stoked. Thanks again.
