Aren't they less bright, plus it's harder to bend notes?

If it's tuned down to C, I would assume that they'd still be pretty easy to bend. I know that Magiclawnchair has at least one of his gitarrrs strung up with flats. Supposedly flats can be very fuzz-friendly.

I have 10 flatwounds on my jm with normal Tuning. Bending is slightly harder but you get used to it quite fast.

I just put some 11s on my JM. Didn't notice much of a difference with bending, but I am pretty heavy handed.

My two issues are: there's a weird friction/stickiness to them (maybe that goes away?), and smooth= no annoying scratchy noise freakouts.

I think I'd really enjoy having a mixed set up though.

flats just kinda do one or two things well. and thats thick creamy frippy fuzz, and jazz. not much else.

i used to have 'em, but then i rediscovered the tone control

I dunno...I don't think the sound of flats is the same as the mud you get from the tone control :idk:

Maybe you just aren't whacking them hard enough or somethin'.

half rounds or ground rounds are the ones that are grounded, a good half way house, they sound immense on a jazzmaster,. i find them easier on my fingers as well compared to round wounds

That right there is the greatest bot post ever.
Just comes out of nowhere with something completely unrelated, but at least in a coherent sentence. And then a fucking bird.

Fucking bird.
