Wow.

I just saw they were making this a couple days ago and had zero interest in it. Figured it'd be totally raped and ruined like most adaptations.

Then I saw that Spike Jonze was directing it. Slightly more interested.

Then I watched the trailer. Oh my god, it looks amazzzzzzzing.

I have very high hopes. Its been in the works forever, IIRC, the studio wanted it re-cut a few times because it was too scary :excellent:

Dave Eggers (writer) is amazing, too. Finally someone in hollywood realized that suits and puppets look real, and cg monsters look like shit.

Agreed Aen...was tempted to go into that in my first post. Too much reliance on CGI these days, if anything it makes movies look even more cheesy.
Give me some good animatronics and guys in suits and maybe some tasteful cgi.

Yeah dude, I guess they're animating the faces where the suits cannot articulate.

It used to be that if you just couldn't possibly do something wiht a practical element, you used CGI. The George Lucas decided if you could possibly do it with CGI you shouldnt use a practical element. WTWTA seems like a nice return to the former.

Yea, I've been following this process for about 2 years (from the illicit set photo, to the controversial clip released on youtube). I am soooo pumped!!

It's about time we start getting some good "Kid (grownup)" movie.. Like Labyrinth. I can only watch all these Pixar movies with my daughters so many times.

I really wanna see the other move that Dave Eggers wrote, "Away We Go." It looks pretty sweet. That's 2 for Mendes this year! I still haven't seen "Revolutionary Road" though.

On a side note I really can't wait to see Anderson's new animated offering "Fantastic Mr. Fox."

Names???
I have a pedal in the works that's nameless...
If you hold a note long enough(approx two sec) it gets engulfed like five octaves down and gets demolished...

Iwas thinking of calling it the VORTEX but that's lame....
Ideas???
By the way.. Movie looks bad ass!
