Those Grado ones you were talking about are nice. I've got a pair of AKG DJ81s that sound pretty awesome. Very full sound but not overly bassy like most DJ headphones. They were cheap too, I think you could find em for like 60$ (if they still make them, I bought them awhile ago)

I'd go with either Sennhiser, AKG, or Audio-Technica just be sure to look at the ohm rating first, for normal headphones it's around 8 but you can go up to 64. anything higher than that and consumer products like i-pods and mp3 players have trouble driving the speakers and you don't get a whole lot of volume.

I second these. I got them when I went to college and had to live in a dorm. I wanted some nice sounding headphones that were also sealed. They're great for blocking out ambient noise. But I wouldn't use them as portable headphones.

I too have Sony 7506 which I use for dj'ing and listening music at home too. For me they're really comfortable.

I have the Denon AH-D1100's, and I like them a lot. Really comfortable (if they aren't comfortable, why would you ever wear them?) and they sound great. I think they are technically semi-closed or something like that, but I've never gotten too many complaints for sound leakage.
