Good li'l combo amp

Post by Gearmond »

sup y'all, i'm becoming increasingly dissatisfied with my cheapo little amp.

so i'd like to look for a new reasonably priced amp (no more than $400) thats 20-30 watts, gets reasonably loud, and has a nice clean tone.

so far I'm looking at Jet City's 20 watter. anyone have any other recs?

I play a peavey classic 30 from the 90's, which is better than any fender I've played, but it's 650, and they probably did something to fuck it up.

Traynor YGM-3
(20-30 watts isn't small to me though. They're plenty loud).
I have an old Traynor YGM3 and an AC30
My small amp is this little PigDog

I only have a Blues Jr. combo which is okay for what it is, but I've also wanted to trade up.

I saw a couple of Ampeg GS-12Rs recently for around $400, but now they've all disappeared.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

I absolutely love mine.

Best thing for amp shopping is to just go around to a bunch of store and play a bunch of them(above and below your price range). You might find some used gem for a steal.

I've got a laney VC15 which afaik is pretty much like an ac15, and I love it. It sounds a lot like the ac15 I tried, which I also really liked. Great cleans and pretty decent headroom for 15W.
