that looks too big to be a muff! I did some digging and EHX claim on their website, that duct tapped to the guitar is something crazier than a big muff. They say he's got a Frequency Analyzer duct taped to it.
They even reference the same video!

I read somewhere that it's a "devobox". Quite what that is I have no idea but it sure as hell looks like those vintage Freq analyzers.

Yeah, it's a frequency analyzer. Makes sense, so he can tune the ring mod. That album is just a golden gem.
