One man band?

So, I'm not really looking to do a one man band... More like 2, maybe three. I'm wanting to do a guitar driven electro/noise thing.

But let's say hypothetically I DID want to... What would I need to do so?

Right now, I've got a bunch of pedals including a looper on my m9 and echolution. Nothing super sophisticated... so maybe a better looper that can store banks? I'm considering unloading the M9 and getting a BOSS RC-30 or the Jamman Stereo. But then again I have:

An older MBP that I could use for drums/sampling/sequencing/noise making and maybe looping?... But what's good software for these things won't break the bank?

I've got a Micron which can do a lot... I'm not super set on this, so if I got a cool softsynth and a midi controller I could work with that if it could free up some dough. Good softsynth req's?

A single amp... Do I need a seperate amp, and some sort of splitter to run my beats into one, and my guitar stuff into the other?

Ultimately, I'd like to do this and not spend any more money. Any idea's what else I may need for this type of endeavor?

Sometimes I use a crap bass big muff as a feedback looper and put it into my dads old bass amp and use it as a beat/ something to get started on, that's my two cents

EZ Drummer has an electronic kit and is really easy to make beats on. Had a torrented copy a few years ago and wrote some grindcore drum beats with it (using the dfh kit).

It's not super expensive either

I have a two piece electro project running. Here is my setup

I Split the Signal and use two amps. I do Not really Need any synth stuff additional. The other guy is a drummer - so can't speak for drum soft and Hardware really. If you have an iPad i can recommend funkbox and ielectribe. I use these at home to generate ideas with.
My Main Problem was several Years long to get the looper in time. We Play with click and the majority of looper Pedals suck in this Case.

Not sure if I'm an idiot, but I got a copy of this from GC for super cheap... And there is only some drum kits, no way to sequence or record any beats.

I just used Reaper to sequence the different loops.

It's a VST plug-in so it needs a DAW

I'm trying to do a one-man electro noise thing as well. I've got an mpc-1000 and a microkorg that I'll be using with my guitar setup. I'd like to find a looper that's cheaper than the rc50 that'll let me sync loops with the midi clock on the mpc, because I think lining loops up with the mpc using tap tempo would be a nightmare.

Bottom line: if youre using drum machines/synths/loopers you're going to have trouble syncing without midi or cv or something. You'll probably want to run your guitar separate from eveything else because it will sound wierd if you run i all together.

That said, if I thought I could find someone else to play with, I would because this is going to be very intense to get I all to come together right.

I know it's anathema to suggest them, but I'd start with a current or recent generation Roland guitar synth (for midi control as part of everything in addition to the wall of noise/electronic effects).

Used GK-2/3, (only difference is how adjustable the yoke is for curvature, if you're using a traditional Strat etc you'll be fine with the $50-60 used Gk2), $50-125 depending on what's included, 13-pin cable (some people have luck with the non-Roland ebay cables, some don't) $20-60, and a relatively modern synth (so the tracking isn't a joke from an 80s Spinal Tap concert) - GR-30/33 will run you < 150 these days, the GR-55 (modern and current, a few months old since release) is very very nice and has a Boss GT-10 and VG99 virtual guitar thing built in beyond 2 seperate, deep-tweakable synths for insane routable/controllable effects is a lot more expensive ($500 used+, watch for GC to get one for the mid 500s and use a coupon when they're on sale for cheaper).

Not only can you set basic tempo, midi start/change messages and the like and get everything synched, you're looking at a world of abusive sounds.

Don't think cheesy, bad 1982 keyboard effects- think of what those will do layered with a wall of fuzz or other wierd.

Given you can get in the game for less than a boutique pedal these days, if you can handle the setup and Roland programming (except on the 55, which actually has a tolerable interface for once, but it's not cheap either),you're going to be able to pull off noises and one man band stuff that nobody around you can touch.

I had not considered that as an option, but that's very true, and would also allow you to talk to your drum computer from the guitar. whee!
