Sounds a bit... woolly(?) to me, not a strong enough attack, although the doom clip was pretty cool because it really worked there. :idk:

Yeah it's got some hair, for faster riffing I like to tighten up my fuzzes with a boost, but for slow doom it worked awesome.

Before I got it I did not expect it to doom at all, was pleasantly surprised :joy:

The cough like compressed attack was designed to be there. At one point during the design process I was worried that the Barnacle wouldn't be hairy enough. You'd most like enjoy our overdrive better. It has a crack like JCM800ish attack. I'm sure EffectsWire will review it when we are ready to release it. Until then we have Barnacles to sell.

Yeah, I think it's just one of those things where it sounds amazing in certain styles of playing, and just isn't my thing. :thumb:

It's a pretty versatile Pedal. I've heard it sound totally different on the same setting but someone else using it. I'm not by any means saying that the Barnacle is the end all-be all. But is certainly does much more than doom.

That it does, I think I just make things sound best playing heavier styles, I feel more at home.

I'd love it for playing rock just as much :thumb:

Yes, I would also like to hear that. But the next pedal that we have slated to release is designed to stack with the Barnacle.

We may know someone with both a Pharaoh and a Barnacle.

Well, I don't have a Pharaoh at the moment but I could use my Sparkle Motion as a darker boost and do a clip :thumb:

Getting settled into a new apartment today so maybe later tonight or tomorrow

Boost in front of the Barnacle works pretty well. I did my best to make the Barnacle's input as much like an amp's as I could. Stacking other pedals with the Barnacle can yield some interesting results. If you turn on the Barnacle's buffer you can use it to buffer other pedals that might not other wise play nice. When I have my Fuzz Face back up and running all have to post something with Fuzz Face + Barnacle + Wah.
