Mojo Hand FX – Rook & Colossus FTW

Holy „dirt“ Batman, I just received a Rook and Colossus from Mojo Hand and both pedals blasted me straight out of my socks…

Top notch design, sweet sounding (or better to say mean sounding, when it comes to my likings…) and built like a tank…

The Rook is a Low to Medium Overdrive, which doesent sound that exciting at first with a quadrillion overdrive Pedals around, but damn it sounds fu**ing killer and stacks like a big boy into other dirt pedals while staying super quiet! The knobs have a pretty wide range of sounds that can be dialled in and the Gain knob does a great job kicking in some serious distortion once ripped fully clockwise… On the other hand the pedal hits booster/eq territory with the gain knob turned fully counter clockwise. Super versatile and I wasn’t able to get a single bad sound out of this baby.
The Toggle Switch in the middle has 3 positions and to my ears its smooth in the up position, rougher in the middle position and a mix of both in the down postion…

The Colossus is a monster of a fuzz and offers a wide array of tones, thick low end, smooth gain range and everything you could want from a fuzz. Bass and Mid switch make it super versatile and on top there is a 3 position clipping switch. I dig the middle position the most, its very pissed and angry I think uncompressed is the right term, up and down add even more low end and make the pedal a lot thicker and beefier think synth lines or kyuss stoner rock sound…

Last but not least both pedals stack incredible nice into each other I think I never had such a noiseless and useful stacking experience.

I don't know - i'm not really nblown away the stacking was cool though - some good sounds

I really dig the Colossus, cool and wide range of sounds! But I don't know if I would remove my Musket from the board for it...
