Dude, stereo memory man with hazarai all the way. So much fun in one pedal. Not to mention it can do slow flanger, decent chorus sounds, and nit crusher/ring mod madness.

Do it.

Is it really better than a DD 20 though?

I prefer the smmh out of those listed...looper has a bit of a leaning curve but you can do a lot with it. Really versatile and the modulated delays are top notch. It does 100% wet reverse if that matters.

I recently replaced my smmh with a super delay (everything a SMMH does and fixes a lot of things I didn't like + really nice tape echo   ), but thats pretty pricey unless you catch an awesome trade like I did

DL4 is a solid choice, the main benefit being the extra stomps for presets. Another gripe about the smmh was the way you recall presets...you have to push/twist knobs. DL4 (and super delay  ) are controlled by stomps.

Still, smmh just does so much for the price and is worth it if you can look past a few minor flaws.
Considering I had to get a $450 delay to 1up the smmh, i'd say the smmh is a solid choice in its price range

I haven't played a DD-20. But the SMM/H can do so many things and it all sounded good to me. Good for regular/ambient/fuck you delays. I don't know, you'd have to try one but I think it's the best 'do it all' delay pedal out there in the price range.

DD-20 is pretty cool, but I don't like that it has a mix control instead of a volume control. It only gets as loud as your dry signal. At best.

If I was going to drop $300 on a delay I'd get looking around for a good deal on a Timefactor. They're like $450 new, yeah?

Also the DD-7 has basically all the features of the DD-20 at half the size with a better looper. No LED readout though.

yeah I tried the DD-20 and the DD-7 and the EHX smmh i liked the ehx the most. You we're right Pumpkin Pieces! It does soo much I could play with it for hours. The boss ones were good (I don't get why the dd 20 is neccessary with the dd 7 present) but smmh does so much, also you can get the echo to sound much warmer than on the boss dd's.

Have any of you cats run a bass into a SMMw/H?
Just curious how it handles the beef.

it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the EHX, but the Akai Headrush E2 is an awesome delay/looper. I think it's got 26 seconds of loop time with infinte overdubs, plus a standard digital delay and a tape delay simulation. It also has 4 (!) separate outputs plus the main mix output for the tape delay so you could potentially run 5 amps with it!

it's also built like a tank and look pretty cool IMO

When I read the title I had suggestions but as you are looking at the opposite end of echo then I like [Maxon, Malekko ect] I wont.

But I will say that the EHX MMWH is a nice sounding pedal but from what my guitarist goes through if you want something to remember pre-sets look elsewere.
