I've owned every Madden since '95 or so, but I decided that I'm gonna buy FIFA this year instead. World Cup 2010 was my first-ever soccer game; super-challenging for me, but fun.

Just got it today since I'm in the UK and so far I'm loving it. Huge fan of the first game, I couldn't even be bothered to finish the second after getting 90% of the way through, but this is good.
The way it seems to me is that it's a pretty straightforward mix of DX and MGS2/3 (I never played 4 so maybe that's the same). Since those are all some of my favourite games evar, that means I like it a whole bunch.
StudioShutIn wrote:To me, Human Revolution is somewhat reminiscent of IW, but (and this is gonna sound odd) there are elements of it that strangely remind me of Omicron for the dreamcast.
Of course the Blade Runner influence is all over the place, but I'm sure you already knew that
I don't really get reminded of IW at all, it seems to me that it avoids most of the problems that had (though I'm only 3 hours in...)
yer. what makes me all leery like about it is that i hae maybe... 12 times? bought games that look fucking FANTASTIC (Splinter Cell/MGS/Thief...etc) and got great reviews.... even though i know i hate and have not the patience for sneaky games.... and then not liked them.... 'cause i HATE SNEAKY GAMES. hence, i suck at them.

I should replay some Giant Killing. That last one was a bitch. The second was my favorite. I think. The sword guy. That was fucking badass. One of the best bosses ever!
The low framerate got on my nerves though, especially considering how little else there is in that game Relatively.

It's totally playable as a straight up shooter, but that's not really where most of the fun is, at least not to me. If you're not into stealth games you probably shouldn't bother, except maybe when it gets really cheap in a couple of years.
lul. yeah. i like the FF on the DS, but i got burnt out on random encounter jrpg's aroujd Chrono Crisis.
man, the game i've put the most hours into throught my life? Puzzle Quest. the first was beautific, the second is as fun if not more. i run those on my DS and play at least an hour a night trying to get my body to shut down for it's 3 or 4 hours of sleep for the last 2 years at least.
fucking. ADDICTIVE.

Not much a sports gamer/follower anymore, but this has me interested. Love the idea of having the Greatest Hits of the NBA. Kinda bummed I didn't see a shout-out to Kemp/Payton. One of my favs as a kid. Those guys sure gave the Bulls a run for their championship back in '96.
Also, Team ICO........ one of the best right now. It's too bad they are so small, because I would love to see more stuff put out by them more often.
And I still somehow have never played the original Deus Ex...I'll get the new release at some point, but I'd like to have gone thru the original before that.
