Just got this and snapped a crappy pic at practice:

My first-ever "real" SVT. It destroys. Haven't been this happy with a gear purchase in a long time.

There is only one SVT, and you have it. Looks like your'e running it through 2x15? Badass, my man.

Thanks dude. Yeah, it's a 2x15 that I basically got for free - I bought it with a big G-K amp, then flipped the amp and made all my money back. Good times. I have an early SVT 8x10 cab that I've had for years too, but ever since I tried the 2x15, I haven't looked back.

I am kicking myself for not tracking down an SVT earlier, but this one just fell into my lap - a good deal from a friend of mine, so I knew for sure that it had a clean recent bill of health. Sometimes it's just meant to be.

From the Doom Room emerges the top contender for my upcoming amp purchase created by Nick at Dunwich Amps. This one here's being built for Mark at B.A.T.

Metropolitan Custom 50, customizable in most every way.

From Nick himself:

"think this is now worthy of a post here. Latest build, custom 50W Metropolitan with KT66 output. Soon to be finished

Custom 50W Metro. Its an interesting little amp that blends ideas from plexis/matamp/oranges/sunn into one thing. Somewhat reminiscent of a 6s100 but with a completely different preamp and KT66s which will run at ~390V B+. Has a psuedo 2 channel setup similar to a bright/normal channel kinda thing in plexis and bassmans but the channels are not bright/dark. Includes a back panel LCD meter for reading B+ and bias currents. footswitchable between channels and you can also mix them. Main board is not yet connected to chassis but I included it in the photos for some idea of how it will look in the end. WZ34 copper cap tube recto sim. Sozo, Mallory, and OD716p signal cap, JJ filter caps, 1W carbon film signal resistors, PEC mil spec pots (cept for gain control), 6 position dual rotary Depth. Merc Magnetics PT, OT, and Choke. I will be offering a slightly different version with different iron set for a 100W KT88 version.

Preamp tubes: V1 12dw7, V2 12dw7, V3 EF806, V4 12au7 V5 and V6, KT66 all JJs.

One channel has super high head room, like no clipping period (maybe if you boost it) other channel can get some grind but nothing huge. So this is a pedal players amp, completely different than a Wizard. The Depth and Vol controls are dual ganged for both channels so you dont get independent control over each of them, just joint control, Depth is a 6 pos FAC type control. you can also mix both channels together for interesting sounds

this is being built for Mark at BAT."

UM, yeah, BONER!!!

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

This is an awsome amp, but the fact that mids are refered to as 'shit' really pisses me off
making this amp ghey
