Jarle Bernhoft anyone?

Post by modernage »

Just stumbled across this guy on the Y'tubes. Norwegian artist that uses a Boss RC50 looper, MXR Phase, Malekko Vibe, and a Boss OC3(?). You Scandinavians really know how to do pop.

Just skip to this one for the omglulzhellsyeah!

edit: arguably this probably wouldn't be as entertaining if it wasn't for the looping.

That was pretty cool. I'm Swedish and yes, there's a bunch of good Scandinavian pop. How big was/is for example Robyn where you are, heard of her? I always wonder how well known the local people that get called international hits really are. I'll try to think of more.

I know the Hives are actually huge, dunno why.

sounds like normal Mraz/Timberlake pop that just happens to be done by a swedish dude with pedals.

weird route to a well known destination, imo

One abides. His cover of 'Shout' kills.

Disturbed did a cover of 'Shout'. It wasn't very good.
I play.

Yeah, Robyn's first album did pretty good over here. The pop industry is pretty unforgiving, so staying near the top is nearly impossible. The Hives are a fun punk band. There are a bunch of groups/bands/artists that are good and/or have had hits here in the US/UK.... The Cardigans, Eagle Eye Cherry (I didn't realize he was Swedish. Just found that out when I was trying to find others), José González (one of my favs), Kent, Sahara Hotnights , The Sounds, Blindside (who I like a lot when I was younger, along with Millencolin), The Quill, not to mention most of my favorite metal bands.
