iRig?
I have no amp at the moment and very little money. I'm contemplating buy an iRig but i want to get some feedback from someone before I buy. Anybody own one? How do you feel about the amplitude app and its effects? Possible to use actual pedals with it? A friend mentioned theres a looper for it(an app i guess?) but i cant find any info on it. Should I just wait for a few more paychecks to buy a decent practice amp?

I'd wait for an amp, buddy. The Epiphone Valve Junior can be had for half the price if you get a Harley Benton GA5H, exact same amp with different Tolex and name on it.
I play.

What about finding a used M-Audio firewire solo? I think they can be had for less than 80$ used. My buddy uses one and runs his pedalboard through it with garageband, both for practicing at home and recording ideas. It sounds really good, and seems would be great with a pair of headphones.

Then you're still kinda playing through a computer. I don't know man, I'm not really sure, but if I was in your shoes, I'd wait an extra week or two. Also, that Harley Benton can be modded later on to be a KILLER amp, so you wouldn't have to sell it, or be wasting money on a temporary solution, you know? You'd be able to have that for as long as you jammed, and it always feels better to fill a room than to fill a computer speaker.

the harley benton is sounding nice, but im seeing them cost nearly $300 with a cab and shipping to US. thats quite alot for such a small amp.

Re: iRig?
What? Hang on, there should a U.S. version also. They're all made in the same factory, to the exact same designs with the same components, just rebranded and retolexed. The Epiphone, Harley Benton, and another makers. Maybe you could look for that maker?
They're E85 over here. about the cost of a Boss Pedal. Cab seperately, I guess, but fuck it, get the combo!

I've just moved and still have all my gear in storage except one guitar. I just bought an irig and it is ok if nothing great. I picked up a couple of the free amp simulators. They work but with quite a few limitations.
It is fine for practicing if you don't have anything else but as far as I am concerned no good for gigging or recording.
