what always bugs me about Borland is that he seems to have this like... "holy fuck thats nuts" sort of intuitive style that no one is really keen towards except the bits of it that sound familiar to what THEY like. i mean, he's a guitarist that tries to play like a bassist, or rather Claypool.

It's sooooooooo good! How much does it cost over there?
Maton prices are crazy in the States and there's only four dealers to haggle between. I got about $1500 off the JH though after all was said and done but it took some real persistence! Funny, as the discount alone was still more than I'd generally drop on any guitar. No regrets (now that it's paid for).

He's been sucked into the Premier Builder Guild though, shit ain't inexpensive, also not as crazy as some of these Gibson and Fender prices of late. I've played a couple and they're incredible plus custom options galore!
Gretsches are generally either hollow or chambered, rather than "semi-hollow"...there have only ever been a couple of semi-hollow Gretsch models with f-holes and they're fairly rare. the one you'd be most likely to come across is the 6120N. the only things Gretsch has ever done that leaned towards offset (no pun intended) were the decidedly odd Chet Atkins Super Axe/Atkins Axe during the 1970s, which were solidbodies.
