There's no octave up on the Multiplexer. It's just down-only.
You every think about just getting two pedals. Get a nice analog octave down, not too synth, like the MXR. And get a green ringer or green ringer clone for the ring mod like octave up.
yeah like EBS octaver+Green Ringer clone... i'm not sure how they would stack together though with one always tracking both dry and wet signals of the other
splitting the signal would be sans problems but too complicated
This sound too synthy. I guess the Octron is what's best at the moment for my setup enev if the octave down is jumping a bit. Thanks guys for all the info.

have you looked at the MI-Audio PollyAnna? It's a little on the synthy side, but can do cleaner stuff, depending on how it's set. It does 1-down, 2-down, and 1-up, I think.

No what he wants is a Deluxe Octave Multiplexer, no Analog Octave down will track as well as that or sound as clean, it has a damn near perfect fundamental extractor (although I do like the standard version myself).
No octave up but you can't have it all, the design is insanely complex as it is.
Only other option I can think of is trying a Pearl OC-7, some people like that one, the Octave up isn't too apparent though.

Bring your bass into the store to try it out for a round two you'll remember why you sold it.
Color me daft but do you want up and down at the same time or is up-or-down ok? If up-or-down I was pretty happy with the EHX Ring Thing which is polyphonic and pretty reasonably priced. I used it mainly for it's pitchshift but i can't remember the specifics of tracking etc because I was running fuzz in front of and behind in conjunction with the pitchfactor and a filter to make a sound of a Dalek farting in a Rancor's face
Oops I didn't see there was a Page 2 and 3, damn phone surfing. For a Butthole Surfers thing you can record what would be your bassline at a faster speed and then slow it down. Or for octave up do the opposite. If you're digital you now have a good reason to buy a 4 track/consumer-thrift store reel-to-reel hell ADATs are probably pretty cheap
