Definitely agree...so easy to get pigeon-holed just by the appearance of your gear :idk:
Of course, I don't really have much of a 'band' scene in this area...or atleast not one I've been involved in for the last 10 years..so what do I know? :erm:

I think there is a Mudvayne connection,...especially with Thumbs. I think the guy from Meshuggah plays 'Wicks. When I think Warwick I think 311, Incubus, and Dave Matthews Band...in fact P-Nut's and Stefan Lessard's tone (especially on the song Don't Drink the Water) is what drew me into Warwicks. At the time it was a toss up between the Thumb and a Modulus Genesis 5 string.

Also didn't help that for a while 'Wick was putting out basses like the Vampyre, and the Corvettes seem well received in the metlulz community.

That said I did see a photoset that Pelican posted to their FB page with a ton of metal-ish bands and it seemed like most guys were rocking P's and J's.

The reverse is completely possible too; with regards to pigeon holing. Get on stage with a Squier and you must be a hack. I've seen some guys rock the shit out of cheap gear. That said I do miss my JV Squier Jazz.

Yeah, I tend to associate Ibanez with the metals.
